https://blog.meshcore.io/2026/04/23/the-split>Since inception, the MeshCore development team have been working hard to build MeshCore. We’ve released more than 85 versions of the MeshCore Companion, Repeater and Room Server firmwares with support for more than 75 hardware variants. All of this has been hand crafted, by humans. We have always been wary of AI generated code, but felt everyone is free to do what they want and experiment, etc. But, one of our own, Andy Kirby, decided to branch out and extensively use Claude Code, and has decided to aggressively take over all of the components of the MeshCore ecosystem: standalone devices, mobile app, web flasher and web config tools. And, he’s kept that small detail a secret - that it’s all majority vibe coded.>The team didn’t feel it was our place to protest, until we recently discovered that Andy applied for the MeshCore Trademark (on the 29th March, according to filings) and didn’t tell any of us. We have tried discussing this, and what his intentions are, but those broke down and we now have no communication with Andy. It’s been a stressful few months trying to sort this out, and is now a sad day to bring this out to the public. It’s been a slap in the face to the team that have worked so hard on this project, to have an insider team up with a robot and a lawyer.>The MeshCore team, now consisting of Scott, Liam, Recrof, FDLamotte and now Oltaco remain committed to designing and developing high quality, human-written software.
>>108750848>insider team up with a robot and a lawyerlol... I used to watch that Kirby guy on youtube back when he was doing solar, ev bikes and horrible music. Irony is meshcore itself came out as result of fight with original meshtastic developers.
I dropped meshtastic after I noticed that messages sent through my private encrypted channel don't get forwarded by other nodes. pissed me off.
>>108751004they should tho.meshtastic has other problems tho like it just doesn't work reliably. It cool thing to play with see which nodes you can hit and stuff like that but it's borderline useless as communication medium at scale bigger than couple of radios out of cell coverage scenario.
>>108751022>they should tho.I know. still, I get absolutely no comms after devices leave direct contact range (~2km), and that's in a city with a pretty good mesh coverage. I saw some people having this problem too, with no working solutions. I got discouraged and dropped it entirely. when using default channel, I used to see nodes even ~70km away.
>>108750848This has nothing to do with AI and everything to do with Jews jewing Jews over copyright bullshit.
>>108751060I have similar experience, it's just not working on larger scale. I still play with it tho, have one node at home, one solar node high up on the hill and small card sized one on me. I'm more interested to see how far signal reaches and propagates and what is around me than comm/social aspect of it.Supposedly meshcore works much better but it's just not popular where i live.
>>108751081Friend is doing database stuff on big IBM systems, says AI code is unmaintainable in long run but is still using it extensively. Whoever comes after him is fucked.
>>108750848As soon as money gets involved all those group effort projects fall apart with someone trying to snatch it for himself. There was similar drama with adsb exchange few years ago.
>>108751090>meshcoreI may give it a try then. I see there are some nodes around my city, and I don't have much too lose, since my devices are just collecting dust now. thanks anon.
>>108751105This is you.
>>108751125Have that same one.Mescore is different in regard that repeaters are dedicated devices and clients are not repeating anything. In mesh mode client can't talk direct to other clients, it has to go through repeater, there's some mode where clients can talk directly but they're strictly point to point - no mesh there.
>>108751162interesting. I will give it a try with my two devices first. if it works better, I will buy a third one to work as a repeater.
>>108751105just add "make the code maintainable in the long run" to the prompt, problem solved, EZ
Explain to me how this technology is useful except for druggies, pedos and fags looking for a quick fuck in the furry con bathroom.
>>108751296>I will communicate ONLY when my daddy govt allows me
>>108750848>split over AI code>read article, isn't about AI code at allfuck off.
>>108751296give me your name, id card , passport, your bank details, passwords, usernames, even the 2FA codes you will receive when i try to log into your bank.
I recently vibecoded a contribution to meshcore and they accepted it without question lol.oops
>>108751642Vibe code isn't "good" but unlike visual or text gen it's not easy to tell.
>>108751296>I LITERALLY CANNOT THINK ABOUT ANYTHING BUT CHILDREN AND COCK!We really need to reopen the extermination camps for terminal projectors. Might as well defund the police while we're at it if these faggot pedophiles keep outing themselves like this.
>>108751162>N650GDI've fueled that plane before.
>>108751162Yeah shitty routing is a net negative.
>>108753028The loli Filter always works
