>Material 3: dogshit wrapped in catshit
How come Apple is still on top of the design game even when the entire industry is shitting the bed?

Because everybody copies it, and a fake will never match the original.
>>
It's a circlejerk of UXfags. Who else cares? They could ship a Win9x theme and I would be even happier as long as I can read the buttons and fucking press them without some UXfag bullshit getting in the way.

At least flatshit is finally over.

I'm sticking with iOS 18 for as long as I can.
Every time I update to a new iOS I regret it.

It's really hard for us to accept that tech is reaching maturity apparently. There is nothing new to do and frankly people don't even want it. We're in the era of reliability and stabilization, just use things that work and look pleasant enough and leave it be.

Adding more bloat to appear fancier or newer isn't the answer.

idc about ui/ux
what I want to know is how the fuck has no one caught up to apple on hardware after like 6 years
why are macbooks unironically better value for your money
>>

They're the only big tech company that has always had white CEOs

I'm not sure how you can say that when foldable/rollable displays are finally entering the mainstream.

>>108752159
The finally caught on that ARM is the ultimate architecture for any mobile device, and unlike Microsoft they actually had the power to force third parties to switch.
>>

One of their advantages is their inherent software/hardware coupling and harmony. Everything is done to work with and benefit the other so they get a lot more out of it.

What's wrong with material? Looks good to me

I need to learn gtk3 theming and make my own l&f
oomox is pretty limited in functionality

I've been running iOS 26 on my old iPhone SE 2 and I like it
>>
Apple was jealous when Microsoft came out with Metro and Aero btw
>>
>>108752755
Yeah. And liquid ass is arguably stolen or derivative of fluent design. Somehow microsoft has been setting the tone, and Apple has been flaunting the design.
>>
>>108752725
No negatives? I .have same phone but haven't updated from 18
>>
>>108752256
Material 2 is goated and works great for both mobile and desktop. Material 1 made everything look the same and Material 3 copied the worst aspects of Apple's design to create the most Fisher-Price looking UI of all time
>>
>>108753017
26.0 to 26.2 ran horribly but they have fixed most things now.
It still looks like shit obviously, but at least it runs okay.
My wife is still on 18.7 though.
>>
>>108751901
They both look terrible and i don't get how no one has come out with an alternative.
>>
Worst part, apple released this glass shit, the every android vendor decided we're going to just copy it and have the same glass shit. Bunch of cucks.

right looks pretty cool but i would never get used to that island thing

Windows Phone had an unironically amazing UX that went unnoticed because Microshaft fumbled every other aspect of the OS. Sailfish somewhat replicates its feel but I don't think it'll go anywhere.
>>
>>108754763
Livetiles were fucking amazing and useful. You can't recreate them with an Android launcher.

Problem is everything is garbage
I'm using macOS tahoe after 10 years without using macOS and it annoys me that the titlebars for some programs are taking too much fucking space and the rounded corners are not great for resizing. I don't mind the design all that much but fuck me I found whichever was the first version (mojave?) to include a dark theme to just look better overall. Even some of the icons are stupid.

All that shit is for future mobile integration. MacOS's core design has actually changed very little since Tiger. Compare it and iOS to the wild ride Windows went through since W8 and Android's insane fragmentation.

sorry but this looks broken. like a bad video artifact.
time to get a reflow done.

>>108751901
liquid ass looks like a cheap plastic toy. material is just comfy, like a pillow
>>
>>108751901
I sold my m4p MacBook pro because of liquid ass.
Quite possibly the worst update experience I ever had. Maybe even more user experience degradation than wangblows 10
>>
>>108755145
Material is the definition of soulless. Ugly and sterile as sin.
Liquid ass is ass but I can appreciate the effort.

They're both shit in the end, I only use material because I'm stuck on Android but I think I'd rather enable a liquid ass-like UI on it if I could.
Given their track record, Google is probably working on it already
