>stackoverflow developer survey
>neovim at 13.6% with professional devs
>rockets up to 23.7% with learn2coders
oh no no no neovim bros...
>>
New people probably don't have an existing Vim config, so it makes sense if they just start with Neovim. I can't be fucked switching over to Neovim.

Wtf does this even mean? Why is Notepad++ even an option, under "professional developer". People aren't using notepad++ for software development, right? It doesn't support git, what professional devleoper isn't using version control?
>>
>>108754915
I'm a pro and I like having my specific isolated version control software because I'll be damned if any IDE that could even potentially have ai in it within 30 feet of my repositories.
>>
What's even the point of learning some gay keybinds when you can just use VScode with inbuilt cool extensions? Vim/neovim is for larpers.

unc uses msvc6

I migrated from neovim to vscode
I stopped fighting against the beast, it's not worth the effort.
I'll wait and see if any of the rustroon alternative like zed or lapce get any good for C and C++ at some point then maybe I'll switch to one of these.

why is emacs filtering all these casuals

emacs was not even on their survey (0.1% write-in)

You trust your IDE to edit code but but show you the difference? What do you do for a living?
>>
>>108754915
Wild concept for a zoomer, but you could just use the terminal to manage git.
>>
Visual Studio Code Chads, we're eating good tonight
>>
>>108755597
Again, a retarded non-answer. If you want to visualize git through the terminal exclusively, and interact with it in the terminal exclusively, why aren't you using vim or neovim? Under what circumstances is a terminal heavy professional software developer using fucking notepad++ over vim/neovim?

Vimchads WON

EMACS BROS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Maybe that's where he wrote his first line of code and stack with it until today. People make choices for arbitrary reasons, you can't rationalize everything. Anyway, the survey doesn't say they use Notepad++ EXCLUSIVELY, it could well be a very limited usage for most but they checked that box anyway.

I made the switch to neoVim after dealing with enough bugs in MacOS's default vim. NeoVim is noticeably more responsive.
>>
>>108757256
that probably accounts for 95+% of the vim/neovim

:term has replaced tmux for me

I just use VSCode with the vim plugin. Best of both worlds.
