The second big problem after code maintainence is that the Slopmachine can't have good ideas for you.
Like this doesn't look terrible but it's still just a direct copy of a 20 year old RPG's (hated) flying segment.
Programming is a learnable skill.
If you're too dull & lazy to get good at programming you're too dull and lazy to have a grasp of how to make something intriguing and enjoyable.
There'll definitely be good vibe coded games but none by self assigned "indie devs" who didn't do it the long route at least once successfully.

I have access to all the best AIs at work and I'm incredibly disappointed by the output of every single one of them for asm, C and C++ (the languages I work with daily, yes even asm)
we have kilometers long AGENTS.md, all the stuff and the code generated is beyond dogshit, something a first-year student would produce at best.
yes it generates code that run, but's the worst kind of code possible and you definitely don't want to merge this heap of garbage if you want your software to be maintainable.
they're trash at programming and software engineering, it makes me wonder how bad they are in other areas I have no expert-level knowledge, I've heard they were fine for webdev, if it produces the same overly verbose shitty output and webshitters consider it fine then I guess it explains why all websites are awful to use

I used ai to vibecode a starbound like clone but with the ship being able to enter and move around the planet, but it quickly became a mess of random code, I used the standard web chat for it, I guess using one of those tools that have file awareness on your project folder is better for it. But I didn't try them since they probably ask for money

Well yeah. That's what YOU'RE supposed to do. You have an idea or problem you want to fix and you use the tool to implement it. You should have a rough idea of how whatever you want should work and be able to articulate the requirements well enough so that the AI can actually do it to the best of its ability (One thing I've learned is that there is a surprisingly large amount of people that suck at articulating what's in their heads in a meaningful easy to understand way. Talking on the phone with my girlfriend made me realize this). You're the "idea-fairy" and the LLM along with a decent harness are your whipping bitches.
