Is there any way I can utilise picrel? All the connectors I bought including the one in the pic all fucking suck for SSDs

I mean the transfer rate IS IN THE KILOBYTES there's gotta be something right? This is 500gigs being wasted

What do???
>>
Link me the good shit anons, I just don't like seeing this go to waste being unusable
>>
>I mean the transfer rate IS IN THE KILOBYTES there's gotta be something right? This is 500gigs being wasted

the worlds best n64 cartridge
>>
Is that USB 2.0?
Did you try a native SATA port?
Are you transfering a bunch of small files or few big files.

shove it up your ass ranjeesh

nta but i think its type-c to usb? like your phone charger
>>
>>108756109
It doesn't seem to be the enclosure's or the SSD's fault, since they both have reviews of 300+MB/s.
You're probably doing something stupid like using a 2.0 port or a shitty chinesium USB-C cable or maybe even using a USB hub.
>>
That drive is dead, get another one
>>
>>108756109
I have that same HDD box with the same snibety snab chip and it does over 100MB/s with spinning rust.
>>
>>108757477
my sata ssd on this basically does regular hdd speed 30mbs but then after a while it drops to kilobytes in transfer speed, tested it with 9gb file, just the ssds do this my hdd works perfectly

some say its a caching issue from the ssd?? idk how to deal with that
>>
>>108757586
sounds like dramless crap, throw it away
>>
>>108757693
my ssd is ramless, but got a pseudo slc cache, i think its alright and very fast, 2 years of use still 100%.
>>
I have one of these drives because they were once very cheap 1TB drives. the SLC cache is less than 1gb. So as long as your file transfers are smaller than 1gb then it’s not so bad: but if you try to transfer anything over 1GB it slows to a crawl. There is a reason these SanDisk drives were dirt cheap before. They are glorified SD cards with a SATA connection.

>>108758057
Damn, guess I'll just use it to store TV shows and anime fuck me

...this is literally a fake aliexpress ssd
and it's insane that in 14 replies, nobody noticed somehow, the text has a very weird font compared to the original
your sata to usb case is perfectly fine, I got plenty with the same realtek chip, it's just... the ssd is shitting itself, probably it has way less storage than declared.
>>
>>108757705
all dramless drives have slc cache
and all of them are perfectly fine for 99% of use cases, especially nvmes which have host memory buffer
anyone claiming dramless ssds are automatically unusable trash is just beyond retardation, it literally only makes a difference when doing lots of sustained writes, which almost no one does on a regular basis.
>>
>>108759892
This. OP should open it up, there's probably just a microsd inside lol
>>
>>108756109
You got scammed bro. This is a knock-off drive. Total landfill material.

>>108759892
You are the winner of the Internet today. Slow clap!
>>
>>108759892
nah i noticed it i just couldnt be arsed to reply to a thread that should be removed according to board rules
its the dodgiest looking fake too, its just a cheap sticker planted on a completely blank casing
>>
>>108756127
>ranjeesh
More likely Mohammed, notice the britbong spelling.
>>
>>108759892
The fuck??

But I used this, like this used to be in my laptop, the reason it's out is because I replaced it with a 2tb WD one since the SanDisk one is only 500gigs, and I used 470 of that 500

Bro I played red dead redemption 2 on that thing, no I don't think it's fake, nothing is lining up here
>>
>>108763200
And to add to that I remember using crystaldiskmark it got 550mbs read and write
>>
>>108756109
Isn't that SATA? Do you not have a fucking sata port on your motherboard?
>>108756805
USB 2.0 can support up to 60MB/s, realistically around 40MB/s, not kilobytes.
>>
>>108756109
Unplug the usb adapter and plug it straight into your board with sata
>>
>>108763200
I genuinely hope this is bait and you're not seriously this fucking retarded
reconnect it internally then and test it out with h2testw if you're so sure it used to work... the fact it worked before really doesn't mean anything though, it's still a fake chinkshit ssd and it probably just decided to crap out now or you hadn't filled it up past its actual capacity yet.
literally search this ssd up on google images and try to find a single one that has the label or text font/spacing that lines up with yours... there are none, it's also missing that rectangle at the left side and the label isn't "sunken" like on the original, yours is completely flat.
you could also test the usb case with another drive of course... but again, really unlikely that multiple usb-sata enclosures all refuse to work on a regular ssd for no reason...
I literally bought like 6 of the same exact one you have in the pic and half of them currently have broken hdds (caution/warning with thousands of reallocated sectors) in them as placeholders and even with those drives i get better speeds than you do on this fake chinkshit ssd kekw
>>
>>108756109
caching issue

i got the same thing going on an old ssd in an enclosure basically if you transfer anything more than 5 gigs at a time, it will slow to a crawl like you said transfer rate in the kbs

i basically just use it to store movies and tv shows because it cannot handle anything higher than 5 gigs at a time, the transfer rate is amazing tho 200mbs so it really is fast i mean its still an ssd afterall but yeah basically cant use it on anything higher than 5gigs at a time it basically becomes a glorified flash drive at that point
>>
>>108756820
consoom more as intended
>>
>>108763390
>>108758057
fpbp

really is just a caching issue op
