i just don't really get it. i don't see how people can be this far off the mark on design despite presumably having studied it
i like design, if anything it's my passion, i do it professionally, but i don't have any certification in it and it really doesn't feel particularly hard to just pick apart every single core principle being tried in this design
i genuinely don't think there's a single thing it does well, most of it feels derivative, and not in the "inspired" sense, in the "taking an idea out of its context for its looks"
i think there are some good UIs from the early 10s too, both Holo and the original ideas for Material Design were very good, I respect Duarte a lot, the unfortunate part is that apple saw Holo and decided to make their take on flat design, and then for some reason a higherup forced Duarte to then make and also quickly ship Material despite it not being done
