I mean how many people go into STEM because they truly love the math and the homework and the pressure of exams? My passion is art literature history and languages, but I know there is no money to be made in that. I picked Engineering purely for money because my parents said everything else is a meme degree and im sure many others on this board did too

>math
The math/physics majors actually like the math, the others it's a mixed bag.
>homework
It depends. Some projects are interesting, others not so much.
>exams
I don't think anyone LIKES tests, it's just something you do.
As long as you work hard and network and whatnot it's fine to just be moneypilled.

>physics majors
They are unique, they are genuinely enthusiastic about their studies
The engineering field at least here is completely different in regards to that

Do your parents have firsthand experience in STEM, and are successful, or are they like the typical ignorant retard that holds the profession of doctor, lawyer and engineer as some abstract metric for success in absence of knowing what real success is?

Unlikely, but if the former, at least you have connections to the industry through your parents. Nepotism FTW! If the latter, then you're retarded too for going along with whatever ignorant morons say lol. This is a conversation to have with a competent counselor (one that isn't a woman); don't take financial advice from poor people.

>how many people go into STEM because they truly love the math
For the hard sciences, ideally, everyone. In experience, anyone who doesn't get filtered by undergrad lol.

You're on the fast track to committing an hero desu.
>>108762782
Physics majors are arrogant niggers desu.
>>
>>108762813
Parents are non STEM. But I can still get connections because my dad knows some other STEM people..all hope is not list

>For the hard sciences, ideally, everyone. In experience, anyone who doesn't get filtered by undergrad lol.

By hard sciences if you mean Physics and Pure math yes I agree.
Personally, I also like math.
But there is no math to be made in that either.
I get a math degree, now what? Become a math teacher?
Financially speaking there is no reason to pursue such a degree without connections.
>physics majors are arrogant
Hey they are studying the hardest subject in academia, they have a right to be arrogant

But there is no money to be made in that either.*
I should’ve specified I picked engineering purely for money. If i could do any STEM I would do math and art or history or something.
But im not getting $36,000 in debt for a fucking degree that wont even get me hired at a company
>>
>inb4 BUT YOUR PASSION
passion gets you nowhere. Passion doesnt pay bills or get you hired. I need an engineering degree to live a comfortable life. There is no alternative really.
>>
Don't like it at all (EE Major). But I don't see job security elsewhere. The math isn't too bad and shouldn't filter you. The physics might as I had to repeat electromagnetism twice. If you get stuck, I highly recommend Jason from MathTutorDVD. He explains things well and gives you a solid foundation. Organic Chemistry tutor is a given for another resource
>>
>>108762720
I need to do things that others find valuable. I get a lot out of helping people. Stem is a way to reduce your self orientation and moving towards helping others, literature is a selfish, personal hobby.

>Organic Chemistry tutor
That fag sounds like a Brooklyn Jew lol
>>
Math is literally the only thing that's interesting to me and now I can't get a job after it was hyped up all my college career (statistics/data science). Probably just going to just work for TSA or something.
>>
>>108762880
>>108762956
Damn now STEM provides no job security and is only valuable as a passion

Well yeah because you’re not gonna get a job from a physics degree nowadays. Enthusiasm is all you’ve got.

Counseling isn't a high paying job. Why would you want to take advice from them?
>>
Money. But also wanting to build stuff. Went into CS instead of EE like a retard. CS is a shitty dead-end field. EE at least engineers are more chill and want to build things.
>>
>>108763204
You could always pivot to CE (computer engineering). It is a hybrid of EE and CS. But unfortunately recruiters still throw you under the "comp sci" category. Maybe that perception changes
>>
>>108763088
Not so much advice, more so direction. Career prospects are dictated by one's aptitude in the subjects pertinent to a field. A competent counselor can give you a list of possible careers to aim for, of which you decide.
