Every PS5 game is capable of running on BSD

if you have KDE you may be able to compile the card game it comes with.

Its open source that means if it doesn't runs just fork on bithub it to make an os where it does runs

Why? OpenBSD ships with a fully loaded games dir. It has Colossal Cave Adventure and Hack. It even has Hangman. What more do you need???

That's the exact point of the BSD license, THOUGHEVER

I used OpenBSD for a month. Like a third of the open source stuff I wanted wasn't on ports and didn't compile either. Wine wasn't available so that's all the useful closed source stuff gone too. Then there were the ~5 games available as ports or otherwise I wanted to play. Turns out I was wrong and it was actually two, and neither of them worked properly. Then a hard shutdown corrupted some files and broke the boot process.

It may if fucking winehq was allowed, as-is you can run on it only OSS games (eg: luanti), some old console games (through emulators), old dos pc games (through dosbox and scummvm) and a couple of windows ones through rewooted engines (eg: old baldur's gate 1-2 through gemrb and morrowind on openmw).

BSD isn't Linux retard. Each BSD is a different operating system, so the idea that because the PS5 was based off of FreeBSD that PS5 games can work on OpenBSD is retarded. Assuming they'd even work on FreeBSD is retarded as Sony likely made many of their own changes and the games likely require a lot of proprietary software/drivers/SDKs/etc to actually work. Even if they contribute back to FreeBSD (I've heard they do) they don't need to make their proprietary software public for the same reason Android only needs to make the modified kernel open source.

The funny thing about GNU/Linux is the common complaint of "it's too decentralized and fragmented" is actually wrong. It's what makes it actually work. The fact that they all use the same kernel and userland (or a compatible one) keeps everyone largely aligned and makes it so whatever features/software you get on Ubuntu will likely work on whatever meme distro you want. I bet you could take Hannah Montana Linux and turn it into daily driver / gaming ready distro with a bit of effort. The BSDs have to do a lot more work to port features from one BSD to themselves. That's why Linux ultimately won more so than the license. Everyone is forced to work together and some rando can make a distro and it becomes mainstream. Ubuntu came out of nowhere and became the face of Linux. Void came from basically nothing and is notable enough people still talk about it.

I have a feeling the crash it's due to the file system they use, but could be wrong.

You're stuck with what's in ports. If it runs on Java, Python or web, you might be in luck.

It's wrong because it's false. Linux isn't "decentralized" by any stretch of the imagination. 99% of distros are effectively managed by Red Hat.

You're right, and I don't understand why people put up with this filesystem on desktop machines. I know that one OpenBSD contributor and blogger stopped using OpenBSD because of it.
>>
You will have better luck on FreeBSD. OpenBSD can't even do bluetooth, it's really not for desktop use.
You can run a lot of games through wine though
