For me its the relative time stamp.

There are no good reasons outside of a personal notification system other than obfuscation to use relative over absolute when posting.

not everyone is living in the same time zone but the relative time to an event is the same nonetheless.
"This message was posted two hours ago" everyone understand that
"This message was posted on 03:20:26 D/M/Y" this may even be in the future if it is not adjusted to your time zone.

Don't remember where, but I've seen some sites that change from relative to absolute after a certain amount of time. I like that best.
