Some kid here said that ASML could destroy the US if they stop selling advanced chip making machines
In reality I don't the US even needs computers, really, except maybe the ENIAC
Computers are just not that useful desu

Computers and the Internet was a mistake.
>>
Most of the reason computers need to be constantly updated and upgraded is because of the Internet. Almost all applications, if offline and well-programmed, would happily work on older hardware. AI of course is not necessary at all for a country to function. The US mail system is thankfully still mostly functional, the US could theoretically return to a physical media-based economy if we had to.

this would have been a boomer take like 25 years ago.

Peoppebtevd to wildly overvalue technology's role in human accomplishments. Germans built V-2 rockets without transistors, only pen and paper. And then NASA launched men to the moon with punch cards. What has AI accomplished? Flooding the Internet with pornography? What has crypto accomplished? Better ways to buy drugs online.

Sure however that pornography is incredibly high quality and if leveraged correctly, can put real women out of the pornography business.
This would be a massive win for humanity.

Then stop using it, grow a spine and practice your amish beliefs and enjoy the (you)

Actually zoomtard, the engineers for both the V2 and the Apollo missions used an analogue computing device called a Slide Rule Calculator.
Engineers were still taught the basics of using this device in the United States when I was attending university from 2000-2008. It is also a requirement to learn the slide rule calculator at West Point Military Academy.

This boomer device weeds out cheaters and low IQ, smooth brained retards.

Its not about being Amish, or a Luddite, or anti-tech. It's about how tech people have an extremely unwarranted sense of self-importance and extreme wealth despite their objective lack of tangible contributions to humanity. If Oppenheimer would've used a computer to build the atomic bomb then people today would say that it was impossible to build the atomic bomb without a computer. Our society is completely myopic and tends to view history only through the lens of technological progress.

You don't need the most advanced node to make useful computers. The 6502 was first fabbed on a 3 um node.

Even the Blackbird was designed using slide rules.

If ASML split upon EU/US lines there would be no more EUV machines built for many years

They had three state of the art computer on board.
One in the Saturn V rocket, and two identical ones in the command module and in the lander.

Landing on the moon is impossible without computers, that's exactly why the Soviets couldn't do it.

ASML relies on more than a hundred subcontractors for various unique components nobody else can make.
And the overwhelming majority are in Germany, Belgium or The Netherlands.

It's like the engine, gear box, body and wheels of a car are made in Europe but the seats are made in America so Americans will claim it's an American car.

You retarded nigger, you didn’t say the Apollo Guidance Computer. You said punchcards. The Apollo Guidance Computer wasn’t using punchcards. They used slide rulers to design the Saturn V, the Command Module, and the Lunar Module.

AI and crypto enable me to ejaculate 2x as much as previous to things 2x more fucked up than before. Disconnect me from the Goonternet I beg you. I wish to see the sun once more as I empty my watery colon into the streets of my home village. Elon Musk has placed Grok into head to increase labor. Can only post on Reddit, this is the unironic answer to all jeetposting on 4chan, we run all discord and telegram and moderate r/wsb isn't that so fucking r/nowthatsinteresting saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrs
