I got an internship at some industrial controls company because no one else will hire me. What am I in for?
>>

You have quite possibly the whitest job possible, my dude.
>>
>>108776925
probably fun. i did a data science internship at a chemical plant and they had us out in the plant looking at equipment and talking to operators and shit. a lot of programming stuff is really disconnected from the people who actually use the "product". i enjoyed it. it'll probably be enjoyable.
>>
>>108776925
That counts as a tradie position in my cunt and with that wouldn't be paid that well even in unionized places,. it's just simple encoding of logic rules where the plan is already given to you

lol. lmao.

the PLC monkey in real life is often the guy who has to tard wrangle the retarded wagies into explaining what the machine actually does, figure out what the manufacturing guys at the plant actually want to automate, figure out what sensors and actuators need to be replaced, design the electric and pneumatic wiring, make the control cabinet and wire it, and then also program and test the thing.
>>
>>108777527
If he does that then it's his fault if being retarded

Ayo chud catch this

It's "programming" as in building legos is "building".

But The pay is above median and work is managable.

Regards automation engineer (Electrical Engineer M.Sc)

Lucky.
I have been trying to get a foothold in the industrial automation hustle for years now.

It's still spiritually nig work, although better than webniggers
>>
>>108777859
no it's just the reality, at least in europe. PLC monkeys are just the one-man army automation team. it's still a shitty tradie job that doesn't pay much but you're expected to be able to handle basically any problem you might ever encounter, and most guys doing the job are electrical or mechanical engineers by education

PLCs themselves yeah but since the nigger monkey customers dont' understand the difference between PLC programming, corporate IT and desktop application development you might also end up setting up their factory floor local network and writing a windows app with a GUI and SQL backend to talk to the thing

t. formerly mech eng PLC monkey now computer science PhD scientician
