WTF /g/ TOLD ME LINUX IS SAFE NOW MY DESKTOP IS GETTING ASSFUCKED THANKS A LOT JUST BUY APPLE AND DON'T TRY TO GIVE PEOPLE TECH "ADVICE" AKA MISINFORMATION
>>
>>108778365
should I upgrade to linux-firmware 7.x?
>>
>>108778365
these are just government backdoors being founded out. If anything it's a positive for desktop users specifically
>>
if the attacker can run random scripts on your pc you are already fucked why is it so hard to understand?
>>
>>108778365
No one has been exploited by any of these.
>>
>>108778474
I wouldn't class these as backdoors because they're not a way to gain access to the system.
You have to have access (whether as a user, or by getting a program to run on the computer) for it to be exploited.
It could be part of a backdoor, the method for some malware on the system to gain superuser capability, but they're not backdoors in themselves.

Yeah retard totally. Good thing the feds don't have privileged access to the Intel ME or AMD PSP, that was a real close one.

>ASSFUCKED
Indeed.
>>
>>108778478
it's useful in a chain. some retards may still have a vulnerable GitHub Enterprise they haven't updated, for instance that lets you induce an RCE paired with this LPE for total ass rape. You guys have very limited imaginations. A lot of shitware in real world use is simply not well maintained.

not my problem

>You guys have very limited imaginations.
Yeah you're talking about Linux fanatics. These retards barely understand their own OS they love to jerk each other off to.
>>
>>108778897
wintards don't understand their os either. most people don't. stop being a bitch. this isn't a flamewar issue.
>>
>>108778914
>this isn't a flamewar issue
You're posting in a flamewar thread anon.
>>
Reminder that OP is a soilent-chugging macfag who spams these nothingburger news threads to cope with having overpaid for his spyware-pozzed goy-toy.
>>
>>108778626
If they have access to ME or PSP, then this all doesn't matter.
>>
>>108778365
the shills already know this, but for those of you who don't seem to understan when you're being shilled, every OS has vulnerabilities every single one of them
>>
>>108778478
reminds me of installing sub7 on the teachers computer in computer science class back in the days

(now literally possible to do in a school again thanks to this exploit hahahhah)

>these nothingburger news
Linuxfags have pioneered a brand new radical security method: security by denial. Deny any and all security issues as there can be no security issues if you say there aren't any.

As if that has ever worked.
>>
>>108779077
While this vulnerability is extremely severe due to its ease of use and compatibility, it does not affect random desktop users as OP implies. It affects institutions instead. OP isn't "assfucked" on his own desktop. You are already root on your own computer.
>>
>>108778365
>All major distros.
Define major distros and why it can get root?
Is it a systemd issue or something else? Are distros like gentoo affected?
>>
>>108778889
Cool ad.
>>

A second exploit has hit the kernel
>>
HOW DO ALL THESE DIRTY FRAGGOTS KEEP GETTING ACCESS TO MY SECURE SYSTEM
>>
is arch patched yet?
>>
>>108779142
It’s an exploit where you abuse the user space so you can gain access to sudo on your command line without typing a password. You need to have physical access and already logged in once for it to work
Also it got patched before it ever made it to a public update and you have to enable some obscure headers fist that are disabled by default and only good for certain research applications

This is a nothing burger for real, obviously microdick shills are pushing it as demoralizing
>>
>>108778365
I bet AIsloppa code is behind this.
>>
>>108779937
Yes this got patched a few days ago
It’s a nothing burger
>>
>>108780023
I thought that was a different one. Copy Fail vs Dirty Frag
>>
Is "finding security exploits that have caused zero actual damage and overblowing them in articles" the latest anti-linux campaign? I guess the whole "nooooo they added AGE VERIFICATION to systemd!!! It's over!!!!" thing didn't work out for corpofags.
>>
>>108780033
why would a local privesc cause no damage?
>>
>>108779077

>>
>>108780022
nah this is another of the literal thousand nsa vulns inserted by "volunteers"

foss is as vulnerably to entryism as it's at all possible for a mode of organization to be
