does blue light filter really work or is it reddit?
>>108783279Try it for yourself and see. For me, it is noticably more comfortable when turned on in low light.
>>108783286This. The only way to minimize fucking with your eyes at night is turning down your monitor brightness and enabling a decently strong night light. Also turn on a background lamp in your room even if its not very strong.
No. I don't want my screen to look like diarrhoea. Just put your monitor in eco mode to reduce the backlight.
>>108783279What do you think? A fucking software filter while your actual hardware still emits blue light... Snake oil.
>>108783309i use my monitor at night and if i turn off the nightlight i can literally feel my pupils getting burnt. snake oil or not it does something to make it easier to look at a screen. of course only combined with a lowered brightness
>>108783296eco mode just makes the screen brighter and washed out
>>108783279
>>108783279no
>>108783332rofl
>>108783332kek nice
I tried this shit for two years. I also bought some orange, blue-light filtering goggles to wear for a few hours before bed. the only thing that really helped me actually get tired in the evening was turning down my monitor brightness and turning off all the room lights.
>>108783279I have green eyes. Yep, it works well for me.
>>108783309it's emitting far less blue light if it's being filtered out.
>>108783279Yes but not for the reason you think. It has nothing to do with sleep but disrupting subtle glownigger lightwave to emotional trigger priming. It makes you slightly harder to propaganize.
>>108783279it has no effect on your sleep cycle if that's what you mean, but it might be more comfortable for you personally, similar to dark mode
deus ex piss filterInstead of relying on shitty filters just go to bed earlier
Wouldn't it be better as a night mode to implement a mode that automatically and gradually lowers the brightness to a set value? Less light more night?
>>108783279>blue promotes alertness>reds promote sleepyAlso, basedOLED breaks because blue too high energy, need to convince the goycattle they don't need blue light. I think the (((someone))) just doesn't want us liking blue light.
>>108785211doesn't really work on my machineif I'm used to going to sleep at e.g. 4 AM (yeah, I know, kinda late right) then if I try and go to sleep at 3 AM it backfires and I end up tumbling in the bed until 5 AM or even later before I actually fall asleep
>>108783279software blue filter is better than nothing, but on an LCD showing "black" there is still deep blue light being emitted.Better to use these.
>>108787316Or just use an OLED monitor
>>108785211>>108787316My vision is augmented.
>>108783279fuck you, globohomo!
>>108784105Go be a tech luddite somewhere else kid
lowering display brightness is way more effective for your eyes than orange meme filter
>>108783279Depends what you mean by "work"To reduces strain on your eyes at night because you refuse to lower brightness? Yes.To prevent you from staying up since you can't turn your damn phone of yourself? No.>>108787801Turn the phone and go to fucking sleep, it's that easy.>but muh blue lightIs no longer being emitted if you turn of the fucking screen.
ye feels better during night time. don't care about sleep cycles, it's just FEELS better.
on TVs you can use Filmmaker Mode+HDR. it actually feels better than blue lighter filters because it preserves the original color temperature and framerates play as directors intended. 4K HDR is like required you be the judge
>>108783279been using f.lux almost 15 years. whether or not it actually does anything, I know I vastly prefer it on.
How does Lightbulb compare to F.lux?
>>108783279Blue light filters are not needed, all that is needed is not setting your monitor to be brighter than the sun. Seriously, what is it with people setting their monitors to eye sear level.
