let's start with free sattellite tv, northcoaster hobby is a liar. he made getting free sattellite tv look as easy as buying rabbits ear antennas and getting a free channel when it clearly isn't
the problem with sattelite tv is firstly you need line of sight (in EU you want it facing south) 19.2, 28.8.. you need multiple lnb's, one per sattelite. You can get stuff like a multytenne (4 sattelites with 1 dish) but yeah inside it's like 4 lnb's. Bit of a hassle getting a cable from the dish to your tv but it works.Well it works for 1 TV, if you want more than 1 TV, or god forbids you want to record one channel while watching a second, you need to duplicate that entire setup.. Again you can buy multitenne with dual LNB (2x for every satellite you want reception on that is)I used to have a dreambox in the good old days when you could crack seca encryption used by most providers.. I quit satellite tv about 15y ago..
>>108783564it used to be that easy but now there's a lot of interference that basically requires you to be right by the broadcasting station now.
Free satellite TV isn't hard to believe. It's just a gigantic pain in the ass and inferior to internet piracy.
>>108783934that's interesting, i thought you just needed one lnb, isn't it easy in most of the us? I think you guys have plenty of free to air satellites right over you, at least one from what I heard
>>108783934I mean the eu, sorry damm autocorrect
>>108784036>>108784009it used to be somewhat easy but corporations changed the global communications system, now unencrypted analog broadcasts are almost non-existent and free digital broadcasts are rare and usually only on far-away satellites, making the signal very faint and therefore difficult to pick up they did this on purpose to force us to subscribe to their paid two-way services they also made the equipment to get free sattellite tv almost completely unavailable, their no longer in store shelves, they're sold by exclusive sellers to very few people this is why fta signals are rare and faint while signals that control our cars or are for paid services like directv and starling are strong and everywhere, they moved the free stuff to faraway satellites that only cover very specific parts of the world while kept the shitty stuff in the nearby satellites that a cover every corner of the planet
What's not working for you?I have satellite TV and it is far more reliable than shitty internet streams. Except for heavy thunderstorms. You can even keyshare the paytv channels
>>108783564I can key in a dozen or so numbers, and most anywhere you are on the planet, a little slab the size of a deck of cards in your pocket fucking rings.Long distance communication even until recent memory was either expensive or slow. Now it's in the hands of everyone and in mere seconds you can reply with, "why the fuck are you calling me? Send a text."
>>108784436well most interesting sattelites in EU are (were) 19.2 and 28.8. Last one is used mostly in UK where you can find loads of interesting free channels.. BBC is open and free, Channel4 same thing. The rest of Europe? I guess German channels can be interesting and plentiful.. if you speak german cause they don't do subtitles and they dub everything in german.. french do that too.I'm in BE, so almost every thing is pay tv.. I mostly stream now, or an occasional illegal dl.. thats about it no real free channels on sat anymore
