is Pale Moon good? I'm tired of FireFox constantly changing shit that goes downstream to my LibreWolf
>>108788049I used to love it circa 2017 but unfortunately it's nigh unusable on the modern web. AFAIK there's not even any ad blocker for it that actually works anymore. It's GUI is great and I wish I could use it.
>>108788139>AFAIK there's not even any ad blocker for it that actually works anymoreto me it looks like it has a fork of ublock available so idk>It's GUI is great and I wish I could use it.would be too based for this world to have Gecko's engine Frankenstein'd with old FF UI
>>108788147Well give it a try and let us know if it actually blocks ads on youtube.
>>108788154>let us know if it actually blocks ads on youtubejust use a dedicated YouTube client lol
>>108788161Fuck no, I tried. They break every fucking week. The official website is garbage but it's the only way to watch youtube reliably.
>>108788164>Fuck no, I tried. They break every fucking weekskill issuet. Freetube user
>>108788164>The official website is garbage but it's the only way to watch youtube reliably.Anon, their A/B testing of new UI mixed wit their crusade against VPNs pretty much makes youtube.com the worst place to watch youtube
>>108788263Fuck off liar.
anything that heavily relies on the threading model turns into bloatware
>>108788049It is good, but the modern internet is shit that makes it bad... It's blocked by crookflare, it's very slow because every website nowadays need shitons of javascript and its javascript engine is old and slow, more and more websites block it just displaying "your browser is not supported" or just display an empty white pages. :( As for youtube, it stopped working on it at least two years ago.
>>108788049I like that it's another alternative to the Chromium monopoly besides just Firefox and the customizable user interface is cool but the latest update to Claude broke Pale Moon and ChatGPT doesn't work either, this has been a problem for a long time and I wish the developers would fix this and set aside their personal opinions about AI. New Moon is a fork of Pale Moon that works on Windows 2000 and I have fun customizing it to look like Netscape and other browsers.>>108788139uBlock Origin still works for me
>>108788139>AFAIK there's not even any ad blocker for it that actually works anymore. That's the reason I had to switch to WaterFox
>>108788049>is Pale Moon good?it's the best browser out there, hands downnot only is it efficient and optimized for hardware compared to chrome's bloat, but it also respects your privacyignore jewgle corporate shills telling you otherwise and join the true browser revolution
>>108788049People who want Firefox without proprietary stuff and tracking, use Abrowser. People who want that but also care about privacy use Librewolf.
>>108788049Pale Moon does not have native, built-in DNS over HTTPS (DoH) settings in its standard preferences menu. dnscrypt-proxy can fix it though. and>/home/anon/.moonchild production
Brave
>>108790698>slopping while using oldschool web browserwhyjust why
>>108791562is shit
>>108788049Last time I had to code pale moon specific fixes, I got the impression that it's very nearly Internet Explorer levels of backwards (the fixes I implemented also got things working for IE). That was ~8 years ago though, so maybe it improved since.
>>108788049does pale moon remain being based on firefox 4?
>>108790740>WaterFoxPlaceboware
>>108791562Brave randomly deleted all my saved logins. Firefox, for all its faults, has never fucked up that bad.
>>108792144>using browser's password managershiggybut yeah Brave is not reliabletheir search is good I guess
>>108788049male poon lol
>>108791039>Abrowseris it even packaged for distros that aren't Trisquel?
I used it for a decade, before I had to give up and switch to librewolfIt was constantly out of date to the point it was incompatible with most websites. After a year of not being able to use github with it, I threw in the towel
>>108792144You aren't supposed to have logins stored in your browser in the first place.I would love it if a browser would just removes that """feature"""" that keeps getting peoples accounts stolen.
>>108792158You can use it in all Debian and Ubuntu based distros with Trisquel repository and I recommend to make the repository only for manual installations so that it can't replace your packages with any other versions. Basically it is only for your Abrowser updates. Second option is to use Arch based distros like Artix (or Arch obviously) and you can just install it from AUR.
Christ we need Ladybird
>>108791926I am not a Luddite, I just think Google has too much power over the web and there needs to be more diversity in rendering engines. AI is a very useful tool for productivity, creativity, and role playing. I also like the aesthetics of the Windows XP, Y2K, and iMac G3 era, while also accepting the positive advancements of technology. I see no contradiction here.
>>108788049Fuck them for Blocking Ad Nauseum.
>>108788049>is Pale Moon good? No, it is deprecated.
>>108795477Not deprecated, but niche and increasingly incompatible with parts of the modern web.
>>108792144I don't understand, this anon uses 4ch and has xirs passwords saved?I'm very confused
>>108795524Anon, I...
