How would you realistically vet against LLM codeslop? Like if you declared you project is ai-free, but people commiting code are remote?
>>
you can't, if people remove the LLM comments it's almost impossible to tell from pure code alone
>>
>>108790707
>So, thanks for taking the time to chat real quick...
>Your commit said that this is a "cleanup", why does it increase the size of the codebase, and I'm in particular interested in your thought process in the Foo module, lines 1352-6700 which are seemingly unrelated, if you could pull that up real quick and give me a 30 second walkthrough.
>>
>>108790727
Ok, but then is it slop?
>>
>>108790707
Don't accept patches from randos.
Do have a live conversation with new contributors asking them to describe certain attributes of the code they wrote.
>>
>>108790795
If that means peace from faggots like you, please get going, we can't wait to be rid of you. Also, you're not going with "them", they just haven't told you yet.
>>
>>108790818
being 2004 edgy won't save you, faggot
>>
>>108790834
Ok, what have "you" shipped, big guy? Can we take a look at it?
>>
>>108790707
>OP asks for ways to check if someone actually understands what the fuck he is writing
>thread is immediately flooded by vibejeets
you ask them what the code does and if they can't explain it on the spot, you move on to the next applicant
not that much different from how jeets used to just steal code from stackoverflow and pretend that they wrote it themselves & understand it.
there is no real way to check otherwise.
>>
>>108790850
Your constant spam implies the opposite.
>>
>>108790707
>coding project
>ai free
lmao. chances are a luddite like you are not good enough to make a project that people would care about in the first place
>>
>>108790850
we don't pay in google gift cards around here my bharat sar
>>
>>108790850
Sometimes there's faggots on here that are interesting to talk with, but you remind me of a person I know who had a stoke, almost died, and is now at 19th percentile cognitively. Same "humor". Seek help, seriously.
>>
>>108790891
t. indian
>>
>>108790897
I do have an argument: you are behaving like a faggot, and you should cease doing so.
>>
>>108790897
I am sick of Indians like you
>>
>>108790707
Once you've had enough experience reading other people's code, you will eventually be able to identify codeslop pretty quickly. Your brain is a neural network of its own and will eventually pick up the tells subconsciously. Personally, I've seen enough code to distinguish between LLMs and just being Indian. Sometimes I can even tell if it's both at the same time.
>>
>>108790918
It really should be a human right to be away from Indians. I'd say chinks too but I like their women sometimes.
>>
>>108790921
LLM shit is verbose as fuck
>>108790924
even worse
>>
>>108790929
I'd like to amend my statement here >>108790923 to include Bosnians. It truly is a race to the bottom. There's no legitimate reason for me or you to be connected with them.
>>
>>108790707
its basically watermarked because they do explanations starting with # after every line
>>
>>108790924
>fellow balkan has turned into vibejeet
ok nigga was the gypsy woman really that hot? you do know they descend from indians right? she is a bad influence jebo te there are plenty of tall bosnian beauties and yet you mingle with the cigani
>>
>>108790707
who cares if its ai slop, if it works it works
>>
>>108790975
I fully understand why actual people tried to genocide you and I weep they didn't succeed. Hopefully someone will succeed in the future.
>>
>>108790998
You don't have the cognitive capacity to understand that you are not human.
>>
>>108791011
Great, can you please go away now and let actual humans discuss things?
>>
>>108791011
I'll take things that never happened for 5 Euro
>>
>>108791044
you don't either shill
>>
>>108791082
We hate you because you're homosexual and Bosnian (but I repeat myself). On the other hand, we're mostly ambivalent about AI unless retards like you are the ones using it (you can't function without it, and you know it).
>>
Why has this derailed into a tranny vs balkanistan homo discussion?
>>
>>108791082
I don't *hate* AI but it's overrated as fuck

what I hate is the gigantic psyop around it with companies laying people off, saying it's because of AI so boomers don't panic sell their stock and then replace them with third-rate H1Bs
all while pretending that it totally isn't because they cannot afford to pay senior IT workers anymore due to how fucked the economy has gotten and have to hire low skill workers or even interns for a slave wage
>>
>>108791117
You can't code, you said it yourself, and you are unfit to judge the quality of code. Why aren't you using Bosnian AI? Well, because to get AI, you'd first need "I", something none of you have, or ever will have. You are literally a meat-based word proxy, surely that skill set will last forever.
>>
>>108790730
if people even bother contributing to your project, you must be a galaxy level idiot to do this unless your project is so big that you can afford to bleed people.
>>
>>108791224
I only deal with projects we hire people to work on. And our policies are that you are responsible for, and for understanding, all code purportedly from you, and you must be willing and able to defend your code in a review. So it's perfectly reasonable in my circumstances.

Typically people don't use "remote" to refer to situations where people "contribute", but rather remote workers are assigned to projects, and when it's time to "bleed people", it's a layoff, Bosnia fag.

God I wish there was a 4chan without slop and browns like you
>>
>>108792749
There is, and it's the place to be. But you will have to find it yourself.
>>
>>108790795
i like to imagine this jeet is translating and hes actually saying you will be a left ass cheek
>>
>>108790840
ok now generate a picture of me shooting my snail sperm dart into your face
>>
>>108790727
>it's almost impossible to tell from pure code alone
clearly you have never reviewed vice code
>>
>>108790707
Don't worry, they'll tell you
>>
If you yourself don't consider the code "slop" then what difference does it make.
Are you actually on the playground in preschool? Be pragmatic.
Someone is giving you quality code that is by your own admission indistinguishable from the norm. Take the free win instead of shooting pride bullets into your own project.
>>
>>108790707
retype it manually
>>
>>108793081
is that supposed to be better
>>
>>108790707
>How would you realistically vet against LLM codeslop?
why would you want to?
if it's indistinguishable from good human-written code (it's not), then what is the fucking problem?
>>
>>108793235
>>108793034
These. Importantly: it's a personal issue. If YOU personally can't tell the difference, then by definition it's at or above your standard and you are morally obliged to accept it on the same basis as any other source of code.
>>
>>108790707
"AI-free project" is a decision similar to Chik Fil A closing on Sundays. It's shedding some potential for your design direction. So I think the vetting could be whitelisting your contributors. Because while you can't exactly verify that a contribution is not AI, you can choose developers that stake their reputation off not using AI. This is not simply theoretical, you can have your contributors provide testimony that they are not using AI, you can investigate their profiles, you can even track individual commit history and revert it. If your project is large enough, you can use contributor attestations in legal proceedings where your project's reputation was lost due to AI secretly used in "AI-free project".
>>
>>108790707
Well, if you declared it yourself, it means you are the maintainer of the codebase. The only way to work on it ai-free is to write all the code yourself. You can't 100% trust anyone to put their stinky fingers on your shiny codebase.
>>
>>108790840
I think the snailcat is cute.
>>
>>108793029
Clearly you never worked with jeets
>>
>>108790707
Find something broken (this is guaranteed with AI code) and as the submitter what this code does without letting them know it's broken.
>>
>>108791224
All projects can afford to bleed bobot commissioners lying about what they wrote.
>>
>>108790850
You don't work at all.
>>
>>108790707
Why would you need to ensure that? Code should be measured by quality, whether or not an AI made it isn't relevant. Now yes AI usually does make garbage code, but if by some miracle it does not, why should it not be included in the codebase? It's not for some twitter tranny ideological reason, right anon?
>>
The solution to bad commits is ruthless bullying.
>>
>>108790873
Yeah they need to understand it thoroughly. The time spent properly reviewing AI code is better spent on just writing it by hand, especially since people inevitably get lazy on the reviewing part.
There might be some super repetitive sections where reviewed AI-generated code actually saves time but I haven't come across such a thing yet.
>>
>>108790733
I am already using some of my precious time on this fucking disgusting planet to help your project be slightly less shitty. If you're going to make me waste ten times the time it took me to write a patch, I'm closing the PR and forking your repo instead.
>>
>>108790707
Require every person to put effort in explaining their PR like good projects already do.
>but what if the PR is generated
then you probe it and reject at any semblance of non-human words.
>>
>>108796002
>I am already wasting even more of my worthless time on this fucking disgusting planet to help your project be 100x more broken with code that literally doesn't compile, let alone do what it's supposed to. If you're going to make me waste ten times the time it took me to let AI write a patch instead of wasting that time reviewing useless garbage and possibly breaking the code for everyone, I'm closing the PR and forking your repo instead.
Be everyone's guest.
>>
>>108794052
You can still tell the difference between pre-AI jeet code, human code, and LLM code if you're not retarded. If a human obfuscates the LLM origin of the code enough that you can't tell then they've at least gone over it enough. The real issue is you'll have to keep doing that over and over unless you're contributing for a single features/bug-fix. Eventually you'll be found out.
