So I think the vetting could be whitelisting your contributors. Because while you can't exactly verify that a contribution is not AI, you can choose developers that stake their reputation off not using AI. This is not simply theoretical, you can have your contributors provide testimony that they are not using AI, you can investigate their profiles, you can even track individual commit history and revert it. If your project is large enough, you can use contributor attestations in legal proceedings where your project's reputation was lost due to AI secretly used in "AI-free project".

If a human obfuscates the LLM origin of the code enough that you can't tell then they've at least gone over it enough.
