So if all the jobs are taken by AI and everyone is unemployed, how do these companies expect to make money if no one has any to spend?
>>108792204At that point they won't need money anymore because they'll have all the resources. They'll probably start wars with eachother to control the entre world
The plan was always Bunkers and Biodiesel.
I think the Expanse had the most realistic version of what life would be like for the proletariat in a future society>everyone gets "Basic Assistance", which is basically SNAP but you can only buy gov't developed goy-slop, engineered to be as cheap as possible>there's a shortage of work for anyone because machines and automation>big companies basically control all resources at this point>the jobs that are available are incredibly hard to get, and you can only get them through lottery systems>as a result, the average person has basically zero chance to advance in society, so the gap between the rich and poor is even larger than today>the only thing poor people can do is sit around and fuck, so overpopulation is another issue
>>108792204Imagine thinking the people who own everything need you to give them their own printed toilet paper back to them.
>>108792301Never happening. They'd rather kill you than give you free stuff
>>108792204Other companies will have money to spend, it's why more companies are leaving the consumer market.
>>108792317Even if they didn't actively and explicitly hate their human cattle, there is zero incentive for them to hand out their resources to the useless eater.
>>108792204Once they have all the money, they'll horde it like Smaug. No plans after that.
>>108792317>>108792326Do they seriously expect to replace everyone with robots? They hate us so much they would rather have a shitty robot do their haircut? And even if they somehow manage to perfect robots to be better than humans at performing services, who will innovate and push humanity forward? It sure as fuck wont be some AI. If they succeed they will at best permanently halt human development and at worsr end the human race.
>>108792204Just stop going out for skibidi toast every other day and pull yourself up by your bootstraps.
I kinda see it as a societal decline.Sure, there are a lot of issues with work. There are huge inequalities in the usefulness of work and the income you get from it. The amount of debt required to get into fields compared to the expected income. The min maxing in driving shit to the bottom. But working for your community and society is one of the things that helps glue people together into a society, and the decline of that is the decline of the other.I don't think shit will get any better if UBI becomes a thing.
>>108792387In the long run I believe UBI would just be the first step towards depopulation. >only give it out on the basis that the recipient has no other wealth>wait a generation or two for savings to totally dry up as there's no real work to be had>start mandating experimental vaccines, or people lose their gibs>suddenly unexplained infertility crises
>>108792387UBI = your survival depends on the mercy of your rulers. Dont want to take the latest experimental sterilization injection? No UBI for you.
>>108792402>>108792411Even if you work, a hostile government can still do those things.
>>108792373>who will innovate and push humanity forward? They're megalomaniacs so of course they think that they can do it themselves alongside with their god-tier IQ AI.
>>108792204That's why they support UBI. Billionaires are not the "cartoon villains" lots of political people make them out to be. Jeff Bezos has said many times that he believes that jobs should be something people genuinely enjoy doing and not just need for money, and I can't say I disagree with that.
>>108792204They invented money. They print the money. The money is just a means towards enslavement.
>>108792204they don't care, they'll already have their trillions. at that point the shift will be to having people eat each other for sport (we're already seeing the ground work for this underway with the erosion of democracy and rise of authoritarians)
money doesn't matter.It's a mean.
>>108792402People stop having babies when they can be forever children and play all day without any worry. You don't need sterilizing drugs.
>>108792204companies become pointless if they don't hire anyone. the entire concept of a company will become obsolete in the face of AI
>>108792317It would be my honor to die for Mr. Musk.
>>108793599That's just the thing, they jumped the gun with this LLM shit. It's not ready to replace anyone.
>>108792301Has Musk actually predicted anything right?
>>108792204They just want to gobble up all the money, so eventually they own all the resources and can buy child slaves for pennies and treat human like cattle
>>108793531>erosion of democracy A corrupt "democracy" isn't a democracy at all, "democracy" is how wealth got so concentrated in the hands of the 0.1% richest, politicians are in the pockets of that class.
>>108793482>Jeff Bezos has said many times that he believes that jobs should be something people genuinely enjoy doing and not just need for moneyToo right mate.*fires you for attempting to unionize*
>>108792244I wonder how corpo-colonialism plays out. We'll probably be given gibs in the form of daycare jobs and that just increases company value in a weird jewish way.
>>108794164Unions are not formed by people who love their jobs but want to extract as much compensation from them as possible
>>108792501Having a (useful) job means you have expertise and access to the means of production. It is infinitely better
>>108792204Companies are not thinking beings that plan for the future. The people in charge of each company do not have the power to control what you're describing. They are just doing what is in their own interests.
