USA >Open AI, Anthropic, Midjourney, xAI, Cursor Europe >Mistral, DeepL, Lovable, ElevenLabs China >DeepSeek, Moonshot AI, MiniMax Japan >??? When will Japan start doing AI?
>>108793243ElevenLabs HQ is in NY.
>>108793259False, it's in London.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ElevenLabs
>>108793243>EuropeAlso Yann LeCun's new company AMI Labs.
>>108793243>ElevenLabs>Headquarters LondonNot Europe>>LovableNo idea what it is>>DeepLNot a traditional AI company
does anyone know how their subscription compares to just buying tokens via api? i don't care about anything else besides the cli TUI for programming
>>108795583>cli TUI>it's a react webapp under the hood
>>108795593yeah, these suck, I'm also open for suggestions of better harnesses.I was mostly trying to communicate that I will not use the chat web client, at all.
>>108793243USA over 300 mil people, access to EU marketEurope like 400 mil people, access to USA marketChina under 1 bil (commies lie about over 1 bil people), access to every market on the planetJapan is like a little over 100 mil peopleYou can't have some things if you don't have large enough population. Inner market is the untimate backup plan when competition bribes local admin for protectionism. 100 mil is not enough to sustain AI industry. Hardly enough to have enough talent to drive that thing and keep up with the pace of innovations.
>>108793243Ever since the U.S. forced them to kill TRON at the behest of Microslop, they've lost any and all interest in coding/computer stuff. Their entire internet is stuck in like the early 2000s.
>>108794527>London>Not EuropeWhat? You must be amurican...
>>108795819No, I'm ackchually European. As in Actually European. As in mainland Europe.People don't normally think of the UK as part of Europe. Thank fucking god.
>>108795841Everyone but you does, Refugio
>>108795856Absolutely not. The UK is pretty different culturally and it's COMPLETELY different economically.
>>108795870>The UK is pretty different culturallyMore diffrent than Germany from Spain or Italy from Finnland? Sure Anon.t. a real European
>>108793243They tried https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fifth_Generation_Computer_Systems
>>108795992Yes
>>108793295He's so retarded, that alone will kill jepa. He should've stayed in the US.>t. frog
>>108795841I'm french and I can confirm this guy isn't European lmao
>>108793243Japan needs more Indians to make the AI boom
>>108795819Nah, Americans tend to think Europe is like the UK. Even some South Americans think that.
>>108793243deepl isn't an AI company you stupid nigger it's a translation serviceidk what the fuck lovable is but it certainly isn't AI either you stupid cunt11 labs is a gimmickmistral is french not european
>>108795841>ackchually European. As in Actually European. As in mainland Europe.so you're a slavshit
>30x cheaper so they pay you 29x the price for using it?
>>108793243>Japan> >???https://sakana.ai/
>>108797072they aren't a nothing burger company either, they did publish this at lea\st
>>108795819London (Kentucky)
>>108793243All of those are made by chinese people (all of the papers are written by chinese people). Chinese people hate japan.
>>108793243>When will Japan start doing AI?they literally just relaxed their privacy laws to allow for AI investment. so right now.
>>108797080You could had said "they aren't small fish" but you didn't.
ElevenLabs was founded by Polish guys and it's likely that the reason they're headquartered in the UK is because the communist government of Poland wouldn't let them grow the way they did in the UK.Literally communist btw, we have actual ex-commies in the government now.
>>108795761>Their entire internet is stuck in like the early 2000s.SOVL
>>108795841^ jeet
>>10879558399% of the point of these models is the scaffolding around it, the models themselves have actually become far worse on all metrics for the past couple releases at all vendors (only latest release is worse at anthropic though) to the point they're useless-tier.But the scaffolding has continued to be developed quite nicely and can do some pretty crazy shit. So your performance really depends on the exact tool. Claude chat on the web uses a lot of orchestration, chatgpt nearly none. But in the API, gpt-4o outperforms sonnet 4.6 on basically everything if using the same tool for both.Price-wise, the subscriptions are highly capped while the token price is typically genuinely prohibitive. What people typically do to optimize price per token is to buy multiple of the 2nd tier subscription service, which comes out as being cheaper with a higher limit than a single higher tier subscription. API token price will depend on usage patterns, but programming is extremely feedback-oriented to get even the simplest programs working, and extensive context is required for every link in the feedback, thus it is usually amazingly expensive. Think $150k per month expensive in extreme cases.
>>108795841>>108795870Are you telling me that the UK is less European than Cyprus?
>>108793243>You will get 70% of the brain power for penniesRagebait thread, but a good bait
>>108800882Cyprus isn't Europe either.
>>108801051European enough to join the EU.
>>108801062UK joined too at one point.
>>108800833>the models themselves have actually become far worse on all metrics for the past couple releases at all vendors (only latest release is worse at anthropic though) to the point they're useless-tier.only for jewthropic, codex has been getting better
>>108802339"Codex" is, again, not the model but the orchestration around it. The models are shitting the bed, the orchestration is improving. If you have the right plans you can select which model to use with codex and compare.
