why don't hackers do anything interesting?
>ransomware old ladies
>hack famous twitter account to say nigger
>scam everything every way possible
do something not fucking gay, please
>>
The US made all computer-assisted breaking and entering-tier crimes into multi-decade prison time felonies so all the fun was sucked out of it, now if you're gonna risk decades of prison and extradition to the US, the payout better be worth it, and the easiest way to make money as a hacker is to sell day0 exploits to criminals or use them yourself and siphon money from the retirement class in first world nations.
>>
The actual good hackers aren't making headlines. You don't know they exist.
>>

The hackers who could do something "interesting" are either working for the feds, dead or in prision.

>hack famous twitter account to say nigger
That one Minecraft crypto wigger Zoomer and his accomplice that did the actual hacking could have done some real-world damage when they hacked Twitter. Iirc, they just used the accounts of famous people to try and pull some crypto doubling scam.

Imagine doing the same except with Zion Don's account and saying something along the lines of "WE LAUNCHED ALL OUR FUCKING NVKES AT IRAN, RUSSIAN, AND CHYNA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER". All markets would crash in that split-second window of time where the validity of the tweet is being assessed. Imagine all the fags who would act as if the world were actually ending. Imagine if the aforementioned trio responded accordingly without verifying with nukes of their own.

>WE LAUNCHED ALL OUR FUCKING NVKES AT IRAN, RUSSIAN, AND CHYNA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER

Every large country has a way to detect missile launches, nobody worth anything would believe this.
>>
Because the late 20th century golden age of hilariously inadequate cybersecurity is gone. Now doing cool haxor shit is insanely risky, requires expensive resources and has little personal benefit.
>>

>nobody worth anything would believe this
Yeah I'm sure many people are going to be waiting patiently for an update upon hearing the president of the US has announced he's launching nukes
>>
>>108797438
I said nobody important meaning world leaders. They would merely check what ever launch detection equipment
>>
>>108797394
>infrastructure is from the Cold War era
>"ALSO, WE RETROFITTED ALL OUR NUCLEAR WARHEADS WITH UNDETECTABLE, SUPERSONIC INTERCONTINENTAL CAPABILITIES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER".
I feel like the leaders of the aforementioned trio, and America and its tumor, are just hoping for any reason to push that big red button and fuck over the rest of the world further than they already have thus far. I'm certain Iran would probably go ahead and at least take out Israel for teh lolz if they had nuclear capabilities, under that scenario (or otherwise).
>>
>>108797455
I don't think the economy will be paying much attention to that in the short term
>>

>I'm certain Iran would probably go ahead and at least take out Israel for teh lolz if they had nuclear capabilities
That's just neocon bullshit. Iran is not even remotely stupid enough to invoke the Samson Option.
>>
>>108797077
i think it's just way harder to do old school hacking because software and systems are simply way more secure now. there are still fishing and social engineering attacks, which to me don't constitute hacking. they're much closer to scamming straight up.

supply chain malware is getting another day in the sun with all this npm shit that's happened recently. but those are just credential stealers.

Even if the white house or other branches of the US military quickly rebuked the fake tweets, the S&P 500 would literally erode half it's value within minutes as automated trading bots all start mass dumping their positions.
>>
>>108797476
>Leaves out "under that scenario"

...

Imagine not redeeming your 72 virgins

>(or otherwise)
>>
>>108797525
That comment was made in jest
>>
>>108797515
>the S&P 500

Am I supposed to know or care what that is?
>>
>>108797541
Based ignorant retard
>>
>>108797077
old school hackers no longer exist. half of them sold out to big tech, a quarter scams people and what few remains switched to fucking around with hardware since software got boring
