In '95, '98 the OS used to like... display local files. A few years later they added this 'progress bar' type thing on the view of local files and since then it just acts as if local files are some indeterminate thing it's searching for. Here's a folder with some images. The progress bar claims progress. It isn't showing the thumbnails. I can leave that open for hours and maybe it'll display the thumbnails and probably it won't. I could refresh or restart and probably it'll make no difference. Several OS iterations like this. The OS used to just display local files as if they are local files and don't require indefinite searching.

No it hasn't. If it were sensibly corrected the problem would not persist over multiple OS releases.
What solution is your image meant to convey? The only potentially actionable information from that image seems to be '1.4.1.1032'
When I search for 1.4.1.1032 I see no legit-looking pages.
Do you have a patch link from a vendor?

'void' is not an authentic PC OS vendor to the best of my knowledge. Do you have a patch link from a legit vendor site?

Correct.
Is anyone to provide an ostensibly manufacturer-endorsed vendor link?
Or someone just wanted to say '/thread' without resolution?

You describe 'The Internet' (allegedly singular, totally not) since before that year.

The name is unfortunate. I had to explain to more than 2 people that "Everything" is literally the name of the program. I thought it was funny when I saw a thread on "Everything has a macOS alternative" and people answering like "no you see, this [insert name of software that has nothing to do with this] software has no macOS alternatives"

Wintard artificial problem.
Install gentoo.

So uh
Does the largest PC OS work as advertised or are things BS on purpose?
Is there a resolution?
