>Old and used CRT monitors are more expensive than brand new flat panels
Who ruined this hobby? I recall getting many CRTs for peanuts a couple of years ago.

Youtube. I myself pretty much am a 2019 DF video fag.
Snatched a F520 for myself before the market dried up.

sounds like you did lol

>modern games look UNBELIEVABLE
Yeah, unbelievably shit lmao
>>

>a couple of years ago.
maybe 10 years ago
everything changed after plandemic
>>
I can't even find CRT monitors for sale in my thirdie shithole anymore.
>>
>>108803333
My F520 looks better than any LCD and has better motion than any OLED. A combination that makes it unbeatable for games.
>>
>>108803382
ok boomer
>>
>>108803382
Yes, please, I love playing games in 240p LMAO
>>
>>108803078
That's only true for old pixel games. Everything else looks worse
>>
>hobby
buying things is not a hobby. buying e-waste is definitely not a hobby. sorry anon.

>In the late 90s/early 00s people gladly paid hundreds more for an early CCFL backlit 6-bit TN panel 60Hz LCD then an equivalent screen size CRT monitor
really makes you think huh.

I just like watching old anime on CRTs. I'm currently watching Tenchi In Tokyo. I also extend my CRT screentime to watching Western cartoons like Daria or Ren & Stimpy.

cite relevant hobbies that don't require "buying things"

>Who ruined this hobby?
(you)
You know about supply and demand, right? CRTs aren't being manufactured anymore, which hard limits supply, and (you) keep hyping them up, which increases demand
>>
>>108803029
CONSOOMING is not a hobby.
>>
>>108803029
Well, yeah, its not unreasonable to pay more for premium technology.
>>
>>108803671
The F520 supports 1536p85hz natively and 4k (2160p60hz) with modern adapters
>>
>>108804281
Programming? You already own a computer and you can use free software.
>>
>>108803694
No anon, on a high end PC aperture grille *everything* looks better than it does on LCDs. Their static picture quality is somewhere between LCDs and OLEDs. And motion superior to both.

zoomers are truly braindead
>>
>>108805682
you really do need qxga on 20" viewable screen to really enjoy modern stuff with them imo with 1920x1440 being the minimum. I personally run 2304x1728i at 144/130hz depending on the monitor using and everything looks amazing especially games

>Economy in shambles so people trying to persuade other people that whatever they have is in high demand and extremely valuable
>Hustle and sigma grindset culture
>Tiktok trends and posers
>FOMO introduced with Gacha and Battle Pass/Skin

You can see regular items that "went out of print" in the past months selling already at x2 time their value, and soon it will be x4: this never used to happen before unless it was a ultra collector item
>>
>>108803029
channels that rely on low hanging fruit and retarded slop like linus tranny tips or what anon here said>>108803078
they hire a bunch of jeets to do the same thing new york times does when they have interns on salaries for 3 dollars an article, on the off chance if one does well it pays for itself
in linus tranny tips case it was his fw900 video, but many others did the same grift with crt monitors
we live in a world where people use every piece of trash equiptment like ANC nigger headphones, air pods, used tn panels for decades without complaints, etc the list goes on. But we're suppose to believe these same niggers suddenly care about black levels and motion clarity, news flash they obviously don't and have nothing better to do than buy whatever is on a yt video, in modern tech thats just old retro shit because nothing new ever happens
if you don't believe me go on reddit and find any 19"+ model that some nigger inbred bought for $1k and check to see how badly they've calibrated brightness/contrast levels and what titles they are showing off and you'll see how retarded this shit is
>minecraft
>fortnite
>goyim strike 2

it also doesn't help that the majority of actual wanted monitors are from the pro grade era not the consumer line, so they were already in less demand to begin with and those people were also wealthy on average and just tossed them as soon as they could leaving the current state of things the way they are
crt monitors are still not rare, it's just the good ones are. go on egay in any country and there are thousands of 17' monitors, but of course no one wants them they want the epic fw900 which won't last a year before exploding it's flyback

tldr
trannies, faggot youtubers, tik tok trends and consumerism for a dead market that isnt' even used by the dramatic majority of it's consumer base, if you are just getting into them now give up if you aren't willing to spend a grand on someones e waste pull
>>
>>108806410
id like to experience using an fw900 with 16:10 being a standard supported res with modern games. its 120khz scan rate is such a buzz kill though not leaving much room for anything worthwhile

By hobby you mean buying crts? Then you did, consooming non-manufactured goods to the point of converting said act into a hobby leads to inflation in prices.
