Is it weird that my Win11 is still on 24H2 with no option to update to 25H2? Drivers, secureboot, TPM, all that stuff is green. Haven't updated the BIOS in a while, but I did update it once since buying the mobo in 2023.
I don't even really care about the update itself, I'm just wondering if something might be fucky.
>>
>>108811848
is your CPU supported? behind the scenes Windows checks for a lot of requirement to see if you're eligible for the update, but if you check all the boxes then maybe their system is just dumb.

You can just download the 25H2 enablement package and install it to get the update, it's just a small file

How do people get 25H2 on LTSC 2024?
Is it just a stupid patch that changes the name or is it a full update?
>>
>>108812638
You don't. The whole point of LTSC is that it stays on the feature pack it comes with. If you used a package to up it to 25H2 it'll become a franken-install that won't get updates anymore because an LTSC with 25H2 doesn't exist.

What's the difference between 11 Business Enterprise and 11 iot Enterprise? I was gonna go for the former for my laptop

Download the latest 11 Business ISO and flash it to a USB. When you boot into it you'll have Enterprise to pick from the edition list.

Perfect thank you. Just out of curiosity what is the difference between Business Enterprise and IoT Enterprise (not ltsc)? Seems like they serve the same purpose

So it's just this guide https://massgrave.dev/clean_install_windows then this guide https://massgrave.dev/ right?
It's that easy and is a set and forget sort of thing?
Final side question, which version of Office is recommended these days? Last I was using '21 which was fine

Thanks a bunch

Enterprise and IoT Enterprise are basically the same. People say to use IoT LTSC Enterprise because it has 10 years of updates from when version releases. And yes massgrave's install guide is fine enough, though I'd personally use diskpart via Shift+F10 to clean a target drive then delete the partitions in the GUI.

IIRC Business Enterprise is expecting an Azure domain account or office email. The normie Microsoft account is for Education/Pro/LTSC.

Logging into Enterprise with your non-business MS account is not a good idea. Why do you need an MS account connection? It doesn't add anything besides spying.

Education has MS Store suggestions (candy crush ads, etc) turned off by default
Enterprise has NVDIMM support (which you will never use)
Other than these, they're the exact same

Though the MS Store suggestions thing doesn't really matter if you're going to use something like ShutUp10 or Winhance anyway

LTSC does have less shit installed by default, but once you remove that from a GAC install they're the same shit
Telemetry is the same between both LTSC and GAC Enterprise
The 2 reasons why you'd want to use LTSC are:
>you want to keep using W10 with security updates for as long as possible
or
>you don't want feature updates changing your system

>the only thing i'd want on w10 ltsc is a 22h2 spoof
That's kinda what people got with the 22H2 enablement package on LTSC 2021, but it also gets you kind of a fucked up frankenbuild, plus that kind of build doesn't get security updates anymore. Even Massgrave said not to do that (pic related)
>>
>>108815180
And with ESU basically making GAC Windows 10 last as long as normal LTSC now there's no real point unless you -really- want to stay on 10 until 2032, which honestly I think most will be moving to LTSC 2027.
>>
>>108814665
LTSC comes down to this, basically: Enterprise-based fixed release (support cycle: up to 5 or even 10 years when on IoT variant) with none of non-critical UWP packages being installed
>all UWP packages from %ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps wiped off, including UWP-scope dependency packages
>lack of some certain UWP apps are compensated with their Win32 counterparts, e.g. Calculator
>fundamental packages from %SystemRoot%\SystemApps along with the UWP-model infrastructure are kept to assure stable user experience, like the XAML-based shell components
If you were to mount resp. edition indices from the .WIM image to their own folders and quickly compare them, you'll grasp the surface-level differences like these. It's not a "le ebin style debloated GAYMAN-optimized" nor "le fell for the MRI crippled edition meme" release

shucks about these missed devilish trips
