Will I regret getting a liquid cooler for the 9800X3D? I tried two BeQuiet Silent Loop 3, and both boxes are badly squashed and generally dirty. I'm worried about hidden dents. Haven't isntalled them yet, waiting for the motherboard (ProArt B850).I am starting to consider getting a Noctua NH-D15 G2 instead. Just finding hard to accept putting such an enormous cooler in the middle of the Fractal North. I was going for aesthetics with the motherboard choice. But noise is extremely important for me too.
>>108808947Phantom Spirit is totally fine for a 9800X3D and it's quiet. You can just change the fan curve if any cooler you purchase is too loud.
>>108808947Btw I also got a PNY 5080, fucking amazing how cool it runs just passively without even the fans on. Fuck those MSI and ASUS marketing influencer cheapo garbage. They all had coil whine or fan buzzing. You are literally trading build quality for all the marketing they do. The PNY was even as cheap as the Ventus.
>>108808967>Phantom SpiritIsn't the Noctua better? Also I prefer it for aesthetics, it matches the style of the case and motherboard. Will a liquid cooler actually be more quiet than the NH-D15 G2 for the 9800X3D when gaming?
>>108808947AMD's CPUs just have dogshit thermals. You can only mitigate the problem so much, and it's not worth chasing the dragon to shave a few degrees from the temps. Get a cooler you like the look of, you can stand the sound of and doesn't idle over 50c, and that's really the best you can hope for.

>>108808985The Noctua is 3x the price for basically the same performance. Some liquid coolers will be quieter, check YouTube for benchmarks that compare them and measure noise. One thing you have to remember is air coolers only have fans to make noise, so you can swap out the fans if needed, but liquid coolers have a pump as well as fans that make noise. If you're gaming with headphones on you'll probably never hear your cooler, my 9800X3D with Phantom Spirit is totally silent under normal usage, but I have it set to ramp up and it can be clearly audible during load from gaming.

>>108808750Usually brands like MSI, Asus, Corsair or NZXT don't manufacture any power supplies in house, but instead order off the shelf or semi-custom models from various OEM companies like Channel Well Technology, slap their brand sticker on it and sell it to you at a markup. So when you ask "is brand X" good the unfortunate answer is usually: it depends. Most are mixed bags of various models from various platforms. Seasonic and Super Flower are actual manufacturers of PSUs that are really good and sell them under their own name (though Super Flower was formerly marketed under the EVGA brand in the North American market). For MSI and NZXT you really have to look at the model (and revision) in question.

Hello everyone, I'm having trouble with my computer related to the Nvidia graphics driver. Recently, I've been experiencing frequent crashes and screen flickering, and I suspect the driver might be the cause. I've tried reinstalling the driver a couple of times but the issue persists. The device manager shows an error with the Nvidia driver, and Windows sometimes fails to recognize the GPU properly. If anyone has encountered similar problems or knows how to fix Nvidia driver issues, I would really appreciate your advice. Any tips on how to completely remove and reinstall the driver or suggestions for stable driver versions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for your support!

I have a 14h gen and a 16GB 5060 until then. I think it's too early in the tech cycle to invest in an LLM local machine and it risks becoming obsolete scrap too fast. The local step is to give these gext generation cards an additional M2 connector +PCIE 5 and blowout PCIe bus speeds to work with 50+ core CPUs with big caches. dropping monne on any system whether AMD or Intel this year is dead money, unless it is gaming and realistically all ou need is a 14h gen i5 and a 16GB 5060 for that and if you multimonitor 32GB of DDR5.

Is there any chance of ddr5 going down? Are the so-dimm sticks frankensteined onto desktop sticks good or scam?
I was interested in AM5 when it came out but a big factor for me is idle/desktop power consumption and thermals. I want the quietest, most power efficient platform possible while browsing. Should I just go for Intel?
I admit defeat. I bought second ddr5 2x16GB kit but could not get it to work. They seemed similar(same name, except with rgb) but the my original kit was dual rank so I was mixing dual rank and single rank. They also had different pmic.I was able to make them boot 3600MT but going beyond that was impossible. Even with relaxed subtimings and 3600 p95 crashed it in minutes. When I upped the voltage, I wasn't even able to make it trough memory training. Yeah 3600 36cl vsoc 1.2 vmem 1.35 didn't even get trough memory training.I continue living as 32gblet

>>108813576>I feel like for most people an i5 would do everything they need and won't bottleneck anything but high end cards at 1080p.You're not wrong
>>108814231huge install base. just show pre ryzen numbers. and now look at the ammount of people on steam.

>>108814243>>108814245>it doesn't count!
>>108814275it counts. just not in the way you meant it. are you retarded? everyone knows this. >>108814232only you want to make some point and win with this stat but you don't know how it came to be.
>>108808043>>108808325Got a source for it?Surely if it was true there would be more than a single screencap of a twitter post getting reposted here as a source?
>>108814290The frog and family goy goyslop spammer isn't honest at all. He is just here to spam threads shilling for intelaviv and njudea until around 300 posts when he'll early bake his next shill OP
>>108814231intel 12-14th gen is way cheaper than AMD + you can buy ddr4. I have a 12100f because it was $70 + energy efficient so you don't need a custom cooler and has 80% of the gaming FPS as a 7600x in worst case scenarios.but those 12th gen CPU's are 6~ years old. They might even stop producing them (they announced end of life, but I don't know if they actually stopped making them).sadly we don't have numbers for the newer intel CPU's, honestly I don't even remember what the new intel cpu's are called, it should've just been 15th gen.but considering the cheapest 15th+ gen intel CPU is the same price, if not more expensive, I don't think people have a gaming reason to buy intel.productivity, sure, but the 12100f is one of the worst at blender CPU rendering, but the 15th gen CPU's are good I heard.
>>108814301>Got a youtuber influencer I can trust?no bitch turn it off on your monitor and feel it yourself
>>10881432713+14 is still rolling for a good part though. they STILL burn out.
>>108814332>No, it can't be tested with instruments, but I can FEEL exactly 20ms of extra latency. Trust your eyesss!
>>108814363the average person is so retarded they think 60fps = 16.6ms but the frametime says different
>>108814363Many monitors have DSC ON or OFFOFF feels better than ONyou dont need a youtuber to yap in your ear for 16 minutes
>>108814350higher power 13-14th gen intel CPU's match AMD's cpu's in gaming and maybe price, they were not very competitive anyways, and the "15th" gen intel CPU's are a bit pricey but they should match the higher end 13-14th gen cpu's in price (13th and 14th gen were not that cheap at msrp, only occasional deep discounts would help).I consider the i3 i4 i5 to be lower power, and it's usually cheaper than the 7600x/9600x, and they did not have a problem with the oxidization (or whatever) from what people have said. And ddr5 is equal to ddr4 in price for a while at least before the recent shortage, so in the past there was no cost-per-frame reason to avoid AMD in price if you were aiming for a higher end PC (like a $500+ gpu).
>>108814363>>108814332>>108814409>feel it yourself>OFF feels better than ONYou guys are retardedthe retard referring to the dsc off it was a monitor problem that was solvedDSC Schizo goes into the bin
