Basically the titleI have a laptop that is a toaster and I want to upgrade to a desktop PC, mainly for personal use and obviously for gaming. Since I'm not interested in playing AAA games from recent years (at most I'll play titles like Halo CE or Halo 2 Annyversary at TMCC), I'm not looking to go to the extreme of buying the most expensive shit out there. Is there any recommendation you have?>didn't know where to post this, because I'm a fucking lurker.
>>108808134Bro now is the worst time, can you get another cheap beater as a stop gap? They are selling less than a 1/3 of the number of motherboards this year because nobody is fucking buildingYou need to wait until the supply chain shakes out
>>108808134Should be good enough for Halo CE
>>108808190>They are selling less than a 1/3 of the number of motherboards this year because nobody is fucking building>You need to wait until the supply chain shakes outWhat the fuck are you on about that's the best moment to buy, because people aren't going to buy PC parts because of the prices.
>>108808228May be in a few months when prices drop
>>108808134>Since I'm not interested in playing AAA games from recent years then you can get anything from 2006 onwards, just buy some used shit for less than $100
I feel like I will be crucified if I say I was originally asking for something pre-built.
>>108808318>I feel like I will be crucified if I say I was originally asking for something pre-built.I don't know anything about pre-builts but if you show me a few models with the spec that you are thinking about getting I can tell you which one to get and for what reason.
what they be reviewing games withhttps://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/starfield-shattered-space-review/
>>108808318They are often considerably more expensive and sometimes have poorly matched hardware (though great deals do pop up if you know what to look for). If you're prepared to do a small bit of work, a retired office computer and adding a GPU tends to be a good option, just need to check the form factor, and in some cases may need a replacement PSU. Marketplace is another option if you use socials.
>>108808134>mid range, economical pc$2000
>>108808134A second hand ThinkCentre M75q Tiny Gen 2 with Ryzen 5600GE or better should be more than enough for 99% of non AAA gayming usecase.would cost you like 300 bucks at most
