The 4chan sounds player script doesn't seem to include .mp4s in the "all supported types" drop down when selecting files and I have to swap it to "all files" every time, which is annoying. I want to change supported types to include .mp4s, but I can't find it and don't really know js. Can anyone find where to edit it?

Is there a way to make Firefox autocomplete a bare domain instead of only offering full URLs from history? I don't expect it to prioritize that but having no suggestion at all such that I must either type out the entire domain name or accept an autocomplete of a full URL and delete the trailing portion is fucking stupid. How long do I need to program on my project per hour if I want to get at least a 70% or higher in college for my final thesis for my degree in Computer Science Honours? I formatted my disk and reinstalled Windows 11. Should I use the native uninstaller to remove the apps I don't want or a third party software like Revo Uninstaller or something else?

This will vary wildly based on your productivity, the actual difficulty of the program, how strictly they grade (not just your university but specifically your professor or thesis committee, how strict are they personally). And also how much of your thesis is actually just raw code.
For example my thesis was basically a research project describing a new protocol, going at length discussing existing state of the art and my own improvements and its applications and shortcomings, providing a symbolic description of the protocol, proving symbolic/theoretical properties of the protocol, and there was also a proof of concept implementation which I rushed in the last week that was basically only used to give a demo during my thesis defense and with a bunch of shit hardcoded to make it work in a hurry.

The only actual metric you can have is total amount of hours meant to be spent on the project. Normally your university will have guidance for that in the course specifications. This is also obviously not set in stone depending on your own productivity and your thesis supervisor's attitude etc.; for almost all my courses in university, I probably spent less than half the "official" time on them. (The degree was meant to be full-time work, but I basically chilled throughout, only doing a couple of hours of work per day on average.)
And in the end your supervisor, who will actually give you your final grade, is the final authority on what's "enough". You should have regular meetings presenting and discussing your progress and he should be giving you an indication of how you're coming along and whether you're doing enough work or not, and you should be able to estimate how many hours to keep putting in based on that.

This is assuming universities where you are work similarly to where I am at least.

I would say no, if they broke them there's no reason they would bother bringing them back. Nowhere near enough people use RSS these days for anyone to actually care, almost all feeds these days are pretty much just left over from when it was cool and popular and most websites added them just because.
That said the devs here have done weirder things so who fucking knows.

What do I need to keep a web server secure? These are my use cases:

1) I plan to use it to self-host private git repo remote origins.
2) I'm going to use it to run server programs to self-host a private instance of Love Live School Idol Festival All Stars that I and a friend will connect to from our phones.
3) I may or may not have make a public website someday, who knows.

I am a total beginner, so what are some things I need to be aware of with regards to security and keeping myself safe?

For reference, I will be using a Linux server, probably on some cloud provider like Linode.

Things I have found so far in my research:

>Don't use root ever, instead make a user account and give it sudo access (How is this account getting compromised different from root being compromised? I don't understand...)

On most boards I can't see controls (file name, contract button, google image search etc.) for webms and mp4s. I think it's something with 4chan-x because I can see them initially when the thread loads and on the catalog, but not once 4chan-x has taken over. What setting did i fuck up?

When I browse the chinz on m phone on Firefox and I press a reply I get a small floating window with the reply. When I do it on Firefox onmy tablet pressing a reply jumps to the reply and I can't for the life of me find the setting for it.

AFAIK simply because the account name isn't "root".

If you run SSH on the normal port you'll get tons of login attempts, my advice is adding some obscurity and run it on an unusual port instead. Not a real security measure but just saying.

with passwordless sudo it's almost identical, but if you require your user password for sudo, it can help
because it defends against all cases where the account is compromised without the password being known. for example if there's some vulnerability on the server and an attacker gets remote shell access through exploiting it, he won't know your password. or for that matter if your private ssh key leaks, the attacker will be able to log in but won't be able to run sudo

What is the ideal orientation for spinning in-use hard drives inside of an RV parked on its wheels on dirt/grass? Not jacked up on a rigid lot so it bounces a little from occupant movements throughout the day. It's noticeable.

Something has changed with 4chanx. It used to be that if I was in a thread that 404'd I would be able to still see files if I hovered over them whether I had opened them prior or not. Now it's just like a file missing. Sometimes if I open it in a new tab it will display it, presumably from an archive, but other times it's just 404.
That's on top of the weird way it takes 5 seconds - 2 minutes for the first page to refresh and 4chanx to work.
What's going on here bros? Does anyone else have this happen or is it just me?

Any one use VLC on an android TV? I do and when I use subtitles it lags for like a split second every time a new sub pops up and it is very annoying. I've searched all over can't find a fix.

I can't help, but VLC has turned into certified dogshit for me. Takes fucking ages for it to open and it when it does some things are all artifacts and others just freeze, but the audio continues. Never used to be like that.
