I have a Dell G15 5530 since 2023. It's been a good machine, no problems so far, the cooling system is great.

I'm still wondering why this general is dead when the topic isn't either Fagbook or 14 years old Stinkpad.

Asus Tuf. I like having a GPU to run small LLMs on even if it makes it heavier. Also 16:10 is so much better than 16:9 for laptops. It's criminal that it's not the standard. No pic 4 u glowfag

My personal laptop is a Precision 7530 that I rescued from my work's trash pile. I like it quite a lot, it is new enough to still be pretty powerful and have things like thunderbolt ports while also old enough to not have the features I find annoying on current laptop generations. High spec in its heyday.

I have a Lenovo with a AMD CPU, was surprised to find out how much better battery life is compared to intel.

I wasn't joking about the Burger King incident. Photo randomly flipping has nothing to do with iphone.
Photo contains embedded data that tells what orientation the picture should be, but is scrubbed after the foot fungus incident.
Hence why your photo flips 90°. The data that tells what the photo orientation should be is missing.

Dell Latitude E5450 with a 5th gen mobile i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD
14" 1080p IPS panel

it's slow, but with Linux Mint (Cinnamon) it's bearable for web browsing, which is all I do with it
I barely use it
build quality and backlit keyboard is nice though

I was thinking of upgrading to a Macbook Neo but probably I won't, I don't even really use it

maybe installing the Xfce version of Mint over Cinnamon would make it a bit snappier?

If you think that's bad, I'm using a Latitude E6430 from 2012. 8GB DDR3 with a third-gen i5 and a shit-tier 768p panel running Linux Mint Cinnamon and Windows 10 IoT LTSC in dual-boot from a 512gb SATA SSD. I'm genuinely amazed it works as well as it does and I don't ask much from it besides taking notes and checking emails and I'm not really interested in fucking around with other distros or dealing with Windows 11 so I feel no need to upgrade. I have my desktop for more demanding tasks and my Steam Deck for video games.
>>
>>108813799
I don't have a desktop so it's my only PC. But yeah it runs ok-ish for basic tasks. Still I think I'll install Mint Xfce if I don't have anything to do one day to make it a bit snappier. And maybe I'll upgrade in a while, but I'm frugal and I don't really need a more powerful machine. Windows 10 must be slow on your laptop though.

I likes my 128gb z13 since it can manage the midweight 120Bish moes, even if the strix is a bit jank for dense models.
i could take or leave the 16:10 since the mismatch with 16:9 is a liability with my shitty self-written window manager.

I always find it funny how old the UI is for company software. I used to go to guitar center a lot when I was younger and their computers looked like a TTY TUI with green text on black where to find your order they had to go day by day manually.

Its their entry level offering so you’re getting what you pay for. It’ll run vidya well enough.
>>
>>108820192
It's hard to say. I messed with it a bit at a store and it seemed fine, albeit a bit lackluster. I find the full arrow keys to be nice, but it being moved down can be a tad awkward. The Nvidia RTX 5050 should be fine for most gaming. Not sure how loud the fans are. The Intel processor is modern, but from a quick check it might eat battery and heat up. Seems solid for performance. If you plan on playing games on Windows 11, 16GB is kinda bleak. On Linux you'll probably be fine. You can upgrade it so not a huge issue. 1TB SSD is good. Screen is mid at best. Price wise? I'm not sure about Norwegian laptop prices, but seems decent. I'd personally would want it to be <$1000 for those specs, but I'm a stingy American. Personally, it doesn't excite me. I prefer the Asus Tuf models (though no deep sleep mode on Linux, which is annoying).

Also why is it showing a US ANSI model? You're going to have a bad time writing your funny ø ä å letters. For programming US ANSI is better than Norg/Dane ISO, but that could be bias. Could also just be a lazy website.

Overall, it seems decent. Mid screen, likely hot and bad batter, will play games well, will likely need RAM upgrade if you do a lot of multi-tasking. Nothing exciting. Probably could save money by buying lightly used.

I like the feel of the hard plastic top, but I kind of wish the bottom was metal since it's already cracking (i take it everywhere).
