What laptop are you guys using?I’ll start: Zephyrus G14 4060
I have a Dell G15 5530 since 2023. It's been a good machine, no problems so far, the cooling system is great.
>>108810787>>108811711Not even real photos?
>>108811845why do you want real pics? WHO DO YOU WORK FOR
Asus Vivobook s14. It's nice with a thunderbolt dock.
>>108810787>laptop threadI'm still wondering why this general is dead when the topic isn't either Fagbook or 14 years old Stinkpad.
>>108810787Asus Tuf. I like having a GPU to run small LLMs on even if it makes it heavier. Also 16:10 is so much better than 16:9 for laptops. It's criminal that it's not the standard. No pic 4 u glowfag
Thinkpad T430. I don't really need a notebook anymore.
>>108810787My personal laptop is a Precision 7530 that I rescued from my work's trash pile. I like it quite a lot, it is new enough to still be pretty powerful and have things like thunderbolt ports while also old enough to not have the features I find annoying on current laptop generations. High spec in its heyday.
I have a Lenovo with a AMD CPU, was surprised to find out how much better battery life is compared to intel.
>>108810787Just upgraded to a Gen 13 X1 Carbon. Core Ultra 7 258V, 32GB of on package LPDDR5x, 2TB PCIe Gen5 SSD, 14in Matte OLED. 2 type A USB Ports, 2 type C thunderbolt, fullsize HDMI
>>108811845fuck off glowie
Thinkpad E14 gen 6i7, 32gb ram, 2tb nveFeels good man
I don't have a laptop, but I have a macbook
>>108810787Dell Xps 15 9520 maxed out with ubuntu 24. Yeah, i actually have a job and need to get shit done
>>108812137Your job doesn't provide your work laptop?
>>108812162>laptopno, we use real machines
>>108812162I use a macbook pro at the office, my loonix machine is for personal work
>>108810787Thinkpad L380 but only when traveling, I don't like wasting time on laptops, it's not comfy. It's ok, usb-c charging is super nice but I wish it had ips screen and backlit keyboard.
>>108812812it's such eyesore tho with those gayass rounded corners
>>108812812burger king foot lettuce and its consequences have been a disaster for phototaking
>>1088128334chan automatically flip pictures taken with iPhones dumbass>>108812820unreasonable rounded corners hate is a sign of low intelligence
>>108812848Can't help it anon, whole modern apple aesthetics is vomit inducing for me, also that concave back lid, ewww.I like my angles sharp and pointy.
>>108810787ThinkPad T480>Why?It's cheap, easy to fix/upgrade, and it just works.
>>108812848>4chan automatically flip pictures taken with iPhones dumbassI wasn't joking about the Burger King incident. Photo randomly flipping has nothing to do with iphone.Photo contains embedded data that tells what orientation the picture should be, but is scrubbed after the foot fungus incident.Hence why your photo flips 90°. The data that tells what the photo orientation should be is missing.
macbook m4 air 16/512
>>108810787I'm using a PHN16-73 93Y5. It's filled with cooling issues but works fine with fedora so I'm fine with it.
>>108810787Legion Pro 7i Gen 10, costed me $3000 for the minimum spec for not being a burgerIt's fucking LOUD
>>108810787Unironically, my personal laptop is still my x230 which I bought new at the time.Yes, it's outperformed by newer machines, but it still just works.
>>108812961“Foot fungus incident”?

Dell Latitude E5450 with a 5th gen mobile i5, 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD14" 1080p IPS panelit's slow, but with Linux Mint (Cinnamon) it's bearable for web browsing, which is all I do with itI barely use itbuild quality and backlit keyboard is nice thoughI was thinking of upgrading to a Macbook Neo but probably I won't, I don't even really use itmaybe installing the Xfce version of Mint over Cinnamon would make it a bit snappier?
MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XWIG-058US
>>108813561If you think that's bad, I'm using a Latitude E6430 from 2012. 8GB DDR3 with a third-gen i5 and a shit-tier 768p panel running Linux Mint Cinnamon and Windows 10 IoT LTSC in dual-boot from a 512gb SATA SSD. I'm genuinely amazed it works as well as it does and I don't ask much from it besides taking notes and checking emails and I'm not really interested in fucking around with other distros or dealing with Windows 11 so I feel no need to upgrade. I have my desktop for more demanding tasks and my Steam Deck for video games.
>>108813799I don't have a desktop so it's my only PC. But yeah it runs ok-ish for basic tasks. Still I think I'll install Mint Xfce if I don't have anything to do one day to make it a bit snappier. And maybe I'll upgrade in a while, but I'm frugal and I don't really need a more powerful machine. Windows 10 must be slow on your laptop though.
Legion 54600H, 32GB DDR4, GTX 1650Tiit's alright
>>108810787Asus a15 NVRThis crap is super unstable
M5 Macbook Pro
>>108813799I have the exact same laptop with Debian on it. It works great for notes, videos, and my PSX games. I also have a pinebook which is worse than the E6430........
>>108810787Thinkpad L16. 64GB DDR5, Ryzen 7735U. Has a SIM slot. I run Devuan.
>>108810787Thinkpad T480: i7 8650U, 1TB NVMe, 64GB DDR4Thinkpad A485: R5 2500U, 512GB NVMe, 32B DDR4MSI GF65-9SEXR: i5 9300H, RTX2060M, 512GB NVMe, 24GB DDR4the MSI is used as a home server now, I only use my Thinkpads and my desktop for personal use. the T480 is the Nvidia GPU variant but I disabled it for battery life. both Thinkpads are also modded with better screen panel, glass trackpad and AX210 Wifi
W541 Thinkpad and a MSI Katana A15 4070
>>108810787Razer blade 17.3 2020
>>108811990I have a Precision with Mint too. 7550 with rtx5000 16gb vram and 32gb ram, capable of smaller AI stuff and casual gaymes but must be plugged in to perform>6 pounds>idles at 55 degrees and gets no cooler than that
>>108813783Isn't this the laptop where MSX unironically put 45% NTSC screen on it just to attract poorfags?
>>108811964I likes my 128gb z13 since it can manage the midweight 120Bish moes, even if the strix is a bit jank for dense models. i could take or leave the 16:10 since the mismatch with 16:9 is a liability with my shitty self-written window manager.
>>108811711cap
>>108812175I always find it funny how old the UI is for company software. I used to go to guitar center a lot when I was younger and their computers looked like a TTY TUI with green text on black where to find your order they had to go day by day manually.
>>108816482Nice, 16GB vram. I used a 7680 as a main dev machine at my last job, it was pretty sweet too. Weight and unplugged performance aren't features I care about.
>>108810787>>108811711>>108813783gaymen laptops look fucking gay
>>108813862IoT LTSC runs pretty well on it as long as you don't pile any other bullshit on top of it.
>>108810787Just a plain Ideapad for me. The 8845HS is perfect for the kinds of games I play. I'm very pleased.
p14a gen2it's pretty good.wish vega 7 was more powerful though. but still I can play all the vidya I used to, just need to bump tdp and use a cooling pad.
>>108817148no, "laptop".
>>108817198That was probably a 5250 terminal emulator connected to an AS/400.
>>108810787Razer Blade 18 2025~

Is this good guys?
>>108820192Its their entry level offering so you’re getting what you pay for. It’ll run vidya well enough.
>>108820192It's hard to say. I messed with it a bit at a store and it seemed fine, albeit a bit lackluster. I find the full arrow keys to be nice, but it being moved down can be a tad awkward. The Nvidia RTX 5050 should be fine for most gaming. Not sure how loud the fans are. The Intel processor is modern, but from a quick check it might eat battery and heat up. Seems solid for performance. If you plan on playing games on Windows 11, 16GB is kinda bleak. On Linux you'll probably be fine. You can upgrade it so not a huge issue. 1TB SSD is good. Screen is mid at best. Price wise? I'm not sure about Norwegian laptop prices, but seems decent. I'd personally would want it to be <$1000 for those specs, but I'm a stingy American. Personally, it doesn't excite me. I prefer the Asus Tuf models (though no deep sleep mode on Linux, which is annoying). Also why is it showing a US ANSI model? You're going to have a bad time writing your funny ø ä å letters. For programming US ANSI is better than Norg/Dane ISO, but that could be bias. Could also just be a lazy website.Overall, it seems decent. Mid screen, likely hot and bad batter, will play games well, will likely need RAM upgrade if you do a lot of multi-tasking. Nothing exciting. Probably could save money by buying lightly used.
>>108813783I cannot get over how ugly those arrow keys and wasd are. What were they thinking?

>>108810787This.It's pretty good.I like the feel of the hard plastic top, but I kind of wish the bottom was metal since it's already cracking (i take it everywhere).
