The UX for GIMP sucks, and the feature set jusssst doesn't match Photoshop. If it did, it'd overtake Photoshop similar to how Blender overtook 3D Studio Max and Maya.

There's a reason GIMPshop was a thing back in the day before someone parked a URL to skim off someone trying to make GIMP's UX better.

I want circle drawing to work like it does in Dia, or a flowchart tool.
Drag circle, resize, and if you really want an ellipse like a degenerate you pull the sides out.
Instead I have to circle select a region, create a transparent layer, create another circular select inside the first, create ANOTHER layer, and then paint bucket fill the middle layer for the circle.
Then I can merge down the layers but I can never resize it again.

I don't want plugins, and I don't hate most GIMP workflows. Just do basic vector operations for shape drawing and then on export flatten to a raster. That's basically how the schizoid text tool works to fucking begin with. Just give me that, for a closed ellipse, a rectangle, and a triangle.
I've actually done "make a circle" by like size 300 text tool for one character, once. It basically was passable for a quick shitpost.
