Be honest, have you ever downloaded malware?
>>108817707deliberately
>>108817707you don't belong here if you haven't infected the family computer with britney_spears_nude.exe downloaded from kazaa as a teenager
>all these viruses designed to "steal your credentials">I have no credentials
>>108817707Yeah, I used to be ignorant and used Chrome. I also accidentally raped my system by downloading a bad iso once. When I was younger, I installed a bunch of adware bullshit in an attempt to get free gaymes, and a handful of porno viruses. It was a different time...
>>108817973To reminisce about downloading cracks and the age of Napster, good times.>>108817732Deliverately and also accidentally in a different time. See above.
>>108817707I got a rootkit on my laptop when I was 12, in 2012
>>108817707frequently, I have my windows machine on auto update
>>108817755chek'd and kek'd
2021, downloaded some shady Discord mod. All they did was sign me out of my Discord account and threaten to sell it if I didn't buy it back (I bought it back for $400)
>>108817707no, that sound unpleasant. why would anyone do it?
>>108818108you paid $400 for your own discord account?
>>108817707Downloaded? Yes, all the time. I scan the shit before running and delete. But the only time I was infected was from Blaster worm, just took over my PC one day, didn't even have to interact with anything.Restoring windows got rid of it though.
>>108817707>linuxgroids
>>108818207Yeah.. I had it since 2016. Had over 600 friends that I had added since then, and Discord was my only way of contacting 90% of them. Include the 800k+ messages in DMs and group chats, and the fact that I was the only owner/admin of two servers and it was easy to justify.
>>108818252>over 600 friendshow many of them have you made cum?
>>108817707deliberately yesbut malware has never successfully executed on my own system. I tried once to nuke ubuntu because I was upset due to snapd sending me notifications about missing themes or sum shitI went to github downloaded a binary that was some crypto ransomware, I ran it and it shit itself because I didn't have some library installed>sudo apt install library>./malwaresegmentation fault core dumped>mfw>run sudo rm -rfrefusesthen I booted into gentoo live install and wiped the whole drive cleanbut all of the malware I wrote worked like a charm on other machines because I compiled it for windows, still have the original botnet alive with 17 machines that I managed to own
>>108818343>I went to github downloaded a binary that was some crypto ransomware, I ran it and it shit itself because I didn't have some library installedfreetards would write crypto ransomware but they would never ever ever statically compile their binaries, because that would violate the terms of the GPL
>>108817707Years ago I downloaded and installed windows, yes.
>>108817707Probably. I blindly install AUR packages all the time, and there's probably some kind of malware in some of the many non-AUR packages I also blindly install.
>>108818356kek
Probably most of the extensions I have in my general use browser are malware, but I'm not retarded enough to use that browser for something I care about.
>>108817707I have, but it was in the mid 2000s. A much more innocent time. My windows was just full of ads, rather than having some serious damage done. I formatted HDD and reinstalled windows regardless.
>>108817754Limewire
>>10881770710+ years ago I downloaded Filezilla and I guess forgot to untick something in the installer and got something. I was reformatting anyway tho.
>haha let's download this Shrek.mkv.exe from Kazaa what can go wrong
>>108817707I must have because back in 2012 I had a root kit virus that I had to format my system for.
>>108817707Yes I downloaded Windows ISO recently to rip the fonts out of it.
>>108817707have these fuck not heard about the else-block? very inefficient code.
>>108817707I'm from the eMule and Kazaa days.So yeah. Many.
>>108817707Yes, though I never ran it. I suspected it was too good to be true and decompiled it.It was a minecraft mod that allegedly let you use a duplication glitch. In reality it would just steal your credentials, server info, and in game location. Real amateur.
>>108818252what the fuck lolsince it launched i have three friends on discord and have joined no servers
>>108822133NTA, but it's not hard to snowball your friend list if you either join a random meme servers or actually create something (FOSS, YouTube, streaming, etc)
>lannixlmao get fucked
>>108817707Used to all the time. I never had anything important on my PC so I would just rawdog the Internet until the computer imploded from cyber AIDS and then reinstall XP. These days I guess defender takes care of it pretty well and I have a Linux install for porno anyway
>>108817707Happens all the time. Never ran it though. Just clear out the .pdf.exe files and such from downloads periodically and move on with my day. The one time I actually got infected was because of a friend I thought knew better. I think it was WinCIH or something, some boot sector nuker that also tried to flash junk to your BIOS to brick your mobo. Fortunately my mobo was ancient and required hard chip swaps so I was safe. Stupid friend though had to buy a new one as this was before the days of dual-bios
