All of these Linux package hacks and 0 days have me nervous bros. I don't feel safe managing my crypto and bank accounts on Linux anymore and I'm thinking about moving back to Windows. How come Linux doesn't have an OS level firewall like Comodo that can track on an alert by alert basis when an app you open is trying to execute another app/script, or trying to drop a file in an outside directory, or execute an app in another directory? All I can find on Linux are apps that tell you when an app is making a TCP connection.

Is this an OS level problem with Linux? Are you not able to build a firewall on Linux that can track what an app does and give you alert by alert control the way you can on Windows with Comodo Firewall because of the way the OS is programmed? What gives?

not sure if this is some firewall shill thread but just use wfc from malwarebytes >>>/fwt/ have everything you'll ever need.
>>
>>108818693
Does wfc from malwarebytes track process injection, scripts, and directory meddling by apps?
>>
No matter what operating system you're on so long as you aren't dumb you'll be safe. Windows, LInux, Mac, all the same to someone who isn't a dumbass.
>>
>>108818657
Yeah Anon, you should use Windows, they got that bomb ass SuperAntiSpyware
>>
>>108818723
That doesn't seem to be remotely true.
>>
>>108818887
It kinda is Anon, you could give a boomer a brand new iPhone 17 or whatever they're on now and they'll find a way to get jeeted out of their home equity faster than some Schizo ass Milennial logging into Bank of America on Windows 7 because he doesn't wanna upgrade.
>>
What kind of server do you think your bank runs?

>constantly download & execute packages and dependencies from a bunch of random maintainers as part of normal usage.
>oh no i am at le risk of le virus :(
no shit. still using linux. everyone knew the risk.

Mine? It runs System/360

3 years ago I was in exactly the same situation as you, I went back to windows 10 and was filled with regret, I was immediately reminded why I left that piece of shit: the bloat, the endless registry hacks, and all the well hidden telemetry settings, among many many other things...
I'm back on Linux now after 2 torturous years of windows 10, don't repeat my mistake, no matter how bad you think Linux is, Windows will always be worse (unless you're going back to Win 7 or XP, I can understand then)

We're not talking about iphones though. We're talking about operating systems with software with an alert system per app action. Winodows is the only one that has that capability. If an app on Apple or Linux wants to create a script and then execute it on those operating systems, you would never know.

buy 11 pro retail from newegg. the sunk cost will keep you using it, fixing all the little annoyances, until stockholm syndrome kicks in and you dont even want to leave.
>>
>>108818657
Wow, Linux is so unsecure with all that recently discovered vulnerabilities, it's so scary!
Here's a cool thing for you: open ALL ports on your Windows machine and setup NAT 1:1 to it in your router and see what happens lol.
>>
>>108819352
You can audit the PKGBUILDs.
>>
>>108819322
ATMs are always windows, I can only imagine the backend servers are as well
>>
>>108819714
>open ALL ports
So you're admitting the windows firewall works? Why would I need to open all the ports?
>setup NAT 1:1
I have ran windows web servers with no NAT/external firewall for the last 10 years with no problems

Yeah, yeah, sure thing lol

SELinux and AppArmor exists. I moved from Windows to Linux, because I don't want to execute pirated_game.exe as admin, on the PC that I use for important shit.

I feel a lot safer on Loonix now, running pirated_game.exe in a sandboxed bottle, via proton in a fake windows env, without sudo/admin or any permissions to see my /home dir.

compartmentalization, ideally you should use multiple devices for different purposes.

Nigger i don't use linux over windows because "muh security", i use linux because i don't have to fight with it to have the system do what i want it to do, and above all, because, once correctly configured, linux stays the fuck there perpetually. Also "security" is never a given but a result of environmental configuration, i can use windows without getting it drilled by malware because i'm not a retard, the same is with linux or any other os.

I just click the program and it opens on windows. It just works.
