>/g/ makes a 20th album
Theme: Movie score
Title: [Accepting suggestions]
Deadline: Sun. 31st of May, 23:00 UTC
Listening party: Sat. 6th of June, 21:00 UTC

>/g/ makes a 21st album
Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>How to submit a song for the album
You can upload audio here without a login:
https://catbox.moe/
https://dmpproductions.org/mediaboard/thread/14/
Other services can be used, as long as the download is publicly accessible.

Create a post in /dmp/ with a link to the song.
AI policy:
- "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation.
- You are allowed to ask an AI about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is prohibited.
- AI-generated stems are banned.
- AI-based tools can be applied (eg. stem separation), but in your submission you MUST declare what tools you used and where.
- Every song submission, regardless of AI usage, should include some level of proof that the song was not AI-generated. Typically, this would be a DAW screenshot.
- The album organiser reserves the right to reject a submission if it is deemed that AI was used too heavily.
- If you are unsure about aspects of the AI policy, feel free to ask.

Optionally, you can attach cover art, lyrics, and an artist name to your submission. The artist name cannot be one you use on other platforms.
Songs that break YouTube's rules won't be uploaded there, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your song. Light-touch mastering is sometimes applied to improve the coherence of the album.

Which is easier:
Trying to figure out how to run Ableton and all your plugins and plugin managers on Linux without feeling suicidal
or
learning Reaper and switching your whole workflow to that?
>>
>>108827792
staying on windows and ableton is clearly the choice here

>AI steals art
>meanwhile people argue that music piracy is ethical because streaming services pay very little to the artist per stream count and there's historical context of bootlegging in third world countries because the music wouldn't be accessible to most people otherwise, also things like pic related

i just finished up a course in dsp and i'm eager to apply what i learned to a project that's audio related. i'm pretty comfortable in c/c++, so is it a good idea to learn the juce framework?

people have recommended writing an equalizer, so i thought i’d start with that. ideally, i’d like to provide a gui interface so that the user can adjust the treble, midrange, or bass or in real time.

The lyrics are some reverse stuff from danish ladies singing danish. The "choir" is old school vocoder. Everything else is homegrown soundfonts

Of course, this is the sound track to any vampire drama on netflix taking place across cwenturies like anne rice go fuck yerself

I'm all for daw on linux, but how do I configure my hardware? I have an arturia minilab and a keystep. Linux support is shit. I'm a noob btw
>>
>>108834048
linux is just poo for music its probably the thing its worst at compared to other OS
>>
for example most people would use AI mastering if it just got professional quality results. you don't actually care about the work of the mastering engineer enough to pay a serious amount of money for a top-tier professional to master your music. your mental gymnastics are that you think music is just about the songwriting and the performance and the technical stuff just gets in your way. then if a game developer uses claude for coding, it's slop? or they're still making real art as far as the game design goes and they're just getting the technical grunt work done like you got your mastering done by the AI. or how people use neural amp modeler etc.

that sounds like a fun project, keep us updated
