Most jobs don't require math skills above elementary arithmetic, if you can believe it. And you're assuming that employers prioritize intelligence when hiring, which is incorrect. They actually prioritize subservience and willingness to be treated like dirt, hence the modern practice of stringing along candidates for 3+ rounds of interviews. Willingness to work for lower pay is an enormous factor as well. Combine that with the psychopathic environment of a typical workplace, full of its lies and hypocrisy and contradictions, and you have an environment that an intelligent person will not only see through for what it really is, but find it completely intolerable and be unable to mask their disgust long enough to earn a living.
