Why hasn't anyone prompted an AI to create a good OS or web browser? Shouldn't that be doable? Any prompt engineers here want to explain what's slowing that down?

codemonkeys are worse than vibe coders?

Why haven't you OP?
That's right, its because you're stupid and poor.

Ive wondered the same thing. How come the Linux chuddies arent using AI to finally get simple shit like working fraction scaling or thumbnails in the file picker?

All that AIs do is crawl the entire internet and copy out the answer most suitable for your query. As there is no GOOD web browser or OS code in existence (let alone in open source), they are unable to copy the code out to make one.

AI just makes you type really fast. That's all it does.

because all AI have been trained on existing source code. And as such they will reproduce existing code. Once they do this they will be infringing on copyright and sued accordingly.

do you really believe that AI work is stolen copyrighted work?
>>
Because your vibecoded is OS in a software ecosystem that requires Windows and your vibecoded browser is useless in a webshit ecosystem that requires Chrome.

There is a reason why people use Linux or BSD as base, this shit is just too complex. Companies tried, but they switched back to android TV OS and forks, same with browsers most of the new ones rely on chromium or Firefox
>>
because they'll get a generic hobby kernel from github, and wonder why it can only "hello world" inside QEMU

Context and compute limitations
>>

both chromium and firefox is open source, what are you talking about?
>>
>>108833694
How would you get it out on the market?
>>

someone actually has prompted AI to create an OS. ChatGPT just forked Debian and installed the Xfce desktop environment on it. Claude also forked Debian and installed the KDE desktop environment on it.

neither of those are good browsers though
the former is the best browser

Linchuds hate using AI because it makes them feel replaceable, because they are

The terminal. I would 100% get rid of it.
No more terminal emulators or TTY drivers. Any future OS is better off built as a GUI first system.
