I can get it for the student discount. Should i pull the trigger? Ai is making compute super pricey and this deal seems too good to be true for how expensive parts are nowadays.

What does /g/ think of the beo?

Got one for my wife for her birthday, she loves it. Great for uni work, light gaming (basically just Stardew valley) and picture editing.

It's a champ for that, it's even physically a little bit smaller than my wifes old macbook air 11" despite having a much bigger screen so this thing is going to be a monster for portability

Buy the Air or wait for an upgraded Neo model with more RAM. Those buying the first gen Neo with 8GB of RAM will regret buying it when the increasingly bloated software stops running well on their giant phones.

How much ram is the air
>>
>>108833812
you will regret it
the ram is a serious bottleneck

Just get a used M1 pro 16" for the same price

16GB in the base model, and a M chip instead of a repurposed A18 that has less cores than the iPhone's. The Air tends to go on sale relatively often (at least the base model), and used M4 models should be cheaper and easy to find. Since Macs have unified memory, they benefit a lot from those extra 8GB, specially for more complex tasks and for the AI shit that comes with the OS.

The Neo is for those who can't afford any other model or are curious about trying an Apple device but don't want to spend a lot on their first toy.

The air feels bad to hold in bed

What's a cheap Thinkpad I can install Linux on that runs smooth for the low performance of a srinkpadm????

The 13in Air and the Neo have near-identical weight and shape, and the Air is just slightly larger than the Neo. Getting a Neo wouldn't make a difference for you unless you have the 15in Air.

Isn't the air more costly?
>>
>>108834387
Yes, that's why I said in another post that it's better to get them used or on sale.

It's better to get a real computer instead a steaming heap of shit that runs worse than Intlel N85 netbook from a decade ago.

IDK where are you from, but the MacBook Neo is too small.
Check one of those refurbed sites in your cunt and get 16 inch M1 Pro.
You actually have active cooling and can do some work on it unlike neo.
