is 16gb ram seriously enough?
>>
>>108840344
No, 32 is the minimum but you should have at least 64.
>>
>>108840344
I've only had issues with it on windows 11, any other OS will be fine.
>>
>>108840344
I never felt comfortable until I reached 32. That's the sweet point now
>>
>>108840344
firefox and chrome a lone eat 8b of ram any time you launch and then random windows shit rapes the other 8gb.
>>
>>108840344
8 GB is more than enough for most programming work on macOS by Apple

Anything more than 4GB is overkill
>Use AI for you faggy coding bullshit
>You shouldn't be playing any games new than they Sega Genesis/SNES era anyway
>Use your faggot phone for YouTube
See? You don't need more than 4
>>
>>108840344
I have 16 and every time I open my browser I feel like I should get more ram.
>>
Depends on the OS and use case. Windows 10/11 playing a modern game while web browsing on multiple monitors? You'll be cutting it close if not capping it out. Especially if you have a bunch of programs installed for peripherals/RGB bullshit. A leaner system like Linux/Mac OS, yes, that will be enough, if not overkill in most cases.
>>
>>108840344
it barely usable with 32gb
>>
>>108840516
>use your phone
yeah my phone has 16gb
>>
>>108840414
Yeah, this guy is right. I've encountered some situations where I needed 32gb and some where I needed 64gb. Both are pretty rare, but the ones for 32 are still realistic. Gaming and using browser at the same time, for example.

I have 4GB.
>>
some anon was flexing his 2gb and celeron a few days ago
>>
>>108840344
depends on your os.
>winkek
yeah nah 16 gb is barely enough to run your forced copilot OS. Another 16 gb needed so that your react UI start menu and other shit works properly.
And another 16 gb if you use chrome since it downloads ai automatically too now.
Want to do something else with your pc? add another 16 gb
>linux chad
you can make do with a couple of gigs
>>
>>108841392
that was an atom not a real celeron
>>
>>108840344
more than enough for W10 and linux, laggy as shit on 11 however
>>
>>108840516
Recently upgraded to 8 from 4, didn't notice a difference. Maybe I just don't have the usecase for more RAM
>>
>>108841434
its not real atom if it says celeron
t. atom owner
>>
>>108841545
It really depends on what you do. I was constantly running out when running bloated linux mint but I don't even notice I have 4GB with arch.
I should mention it's not my only pc, just the chromebook I use for web browsing
>>
>>108841551
Not true. Atoms have been been graced with many names over the years including names the commie elon musk would give one of his hellspawn like x5-z6922
>>
>>108841555
yup, Arch.
>>
>>108841623
they just enable zram, zswap or whatever by default
>>
>>108840344
For 2006, sure.

I'm just browsing the internet. 16GB is the bare minimum these days.
>>
How much is a pc with 32gb supposed to cost these days? For what uses may you need 32 instead of 16?
>>
I'm using 16gb on windows 11 and it works well for me
>>
>>108840344
2gb is more than enough
>>
>16gb ram
>48gb vram
