do you keep bitlocker enabled?
>>
>>108841504
No I use windows 11 on a stationary pc and I don't plug the drive into my other pcs
>>
>>108841504
yes. it will protect your data if your machine is stolen but it sure as shit wont protect you from the glowies. why do you think Microslop keep your keys in the cloud?
>>
>>108841504
Bitlocker is just the best encryption for my data. That's just a fact. And if I ever lose the key, I can just use YellowKey to access the data anytime with a simple USB-stick.

I dual boot and use Windows 11 LTSC iot enterprise as my secondary OS. Bitlocker is not enabled by default.

So that Susan soccermom doesn’t lose all of her data if she ever needs to unlock her drive. You, technically Timmy can just remove the key from the cloud and/or re-encrypt anything that was exposed.

Users here are retards, you’ll find lots of recommendations like:
>Disable defender
>Turn off secure boot
>Never use encryption
Retard central.
>>
>>108841504
I use LUKS because I am not a wintoddler
>>108841878
>encryption bad
Are you being retarded on purpose?

>do you keep luks encryption enabled?
On my laptop? Obviously yes, on my workstation that stays inside my house? No, if Jamal manages to break in, subdue me and steal my pc (instead of fucking it up or just stealing the monitor alone) he can have my data.
>>
>making your hardrive/SSD slower for no benefit
No.
>security
No. It provides no protection from network attacks because your bitslocker is already unlocked when you're using the computer.
>>
>>108842678
>someone could break through your window so why even bother locking your front door?
You are such a fucking retard holy shit, how do people like you even find this board? Fuck off.
>>
I disabled it temporarily so I could resize partitions, and now it claims my "system isn't supported" and I can't enable it anymore.
>>
Didn't they find a backdoor in this recently? Apparently any Windows Recovery USB can boot into a live environment and read any Bitlocked files
>>
>>108841883
It is enabled if you register a MS account during install, but not a local one.
