>Not sure what private trackers are all about?
A private tracker is an invite-only torrent website. Each member shares common goals: collecting, preserving and discussing media.

>It doesn't matter if you use the same username in different trackers, the staff still share your IP with each other.
>Staff is reading, being /marked/ is not a meme, and even if it is, it isn't.
>Don't ask for invites, it's private for a reason.
>If starting out you should interview for RED, rank to Torrent Master, wait on account age, and get invites from there. THAT'S IT THAT IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO

I joined my first (real) private tracker earlier this year.

Just click the VNDB link and it's probably about the same.

I've been enjoying torbox honestly. And for pretty cheap you can share it with family at different addresses. But I don't use it enough (only when I want to watch slop) to give it a proper review.

I don't know why the fuck RED was using ptpimg in the first place. Like nigga just use bandcamp or discogs, it's just album covers.
>>
>>108845872
Isn't it kinda unsafe?
Like, someone could notice some IPs which keep randomly requesting album cover images, they could figure out they might be seeding on private trackers and you're monitoring when he's browsing the tracker website.
>>
>>108845932
all modern browsers can hide referers just by adding some meta tags to the page.

I literally don't understand what in the nigger fuck you're trying to say. Talk with chatgpt 5 minutes to explain to you all this and then come back here.

no actually I don't know what you fucks are on about, if a no referer request hits bandcamp, even with cookies out of all the traffic they have what do you think is going to happen ??

That someone is actively monitoring RED torrent traffic somehow and manages to de-anon you by matching with requests you do for images on bandcamp for images ??

>here your honor as you can see, we have his IP in the swarm of this torrent we looked at using our official bandcamp redacted account sir, and his web browser requested this image from bandcamp 30 seconds earlier, we have the request here, plus the cookies he used; clear as day
>this beta boy pirates music ? when spotify is available ?? shit nigga

>>
>>108846880
Please don't post that here, you are going to awake the private-only cuck mad.
>>
now to explain to the dumbos in this thread why it's never a good idea to hotlink images from other websites

say you go to your profile on RED. It will start downloading 30 cover images at once. Bandcamp sees one ip downloading 30 cover images. Do you know what they will do? They will ratelimit your ass. If not now, then later when it becomes a problem.

They can easily break the hotlink. They can expect a referer, or origin headers. They can require a cookie they set from the mainpage. How will you get around this? Do you really want to play whack a mole with them?

The they can of course delete or change the image, make the url expire, etc. There are a thousand way to break this.

FUCK RED
>>
>>108846982
Even BBT has its own host. Sincerely FUCK RED.
>>
I know that eventually red staff will talk about ptpimg but it would be funny if they never do it and acted like nothing ever happened
>>
do not let the red staff fool you. this is their fault.

>they insisted on using ptpimg with 0 understanding of ownership/retention/legacy options
>they setup the stupid account binding page that links your red account to ptpimg
>they shilled ptpimg everywhere and wasted countless hours of uploaders' time.

Because of the automations I use I'll be able to script update all of my uploads pretty easy imo but I'm not sure if I'll even bother to help these useless cunts who walked us all off this ptpimg cliff
>>
Is ptpimg confirmed dead for just RED users or also PTP? I haven't been keeping up. Yes I know the whole ptpimg site is down and RED has decided to pull the plug, but what's going on at PTP?
>>
>>108847557
ptpimg is dead, but PTP secretly backed up every ptpimg link they had and restored their images
RED and GGn are fucked though
>>
>>108847585
>PTP secretly backed up every ptpimg link they had
Thank god for competence
>RED
Not a big loss for music
>GGn
I didn't even know they used ptpimg, it's over.
>>
>>108847585
>RED and GGn are fucked though
who cares?
>>
>>108847639
I care, dlsite is rangebanning some games so GGn's screenshots are all I can see when I find a game with an interesting title
>>
so why has ptpimg died?
>>
there's a movie I want that is on apple tv/amazon for rent/purchase in 1080p (I think) and I'd be happy to pay for it but want to rip it.

is it hard to get stuff from either of those, do you need the secret sauce/scripts for it or is it a solved problem. should I just make a request for it instead? can I offer to pay the cash for it somehow? (It's like $4)
>>
>>108847699
turns out the dude that ran FNP also ran ptpimg and has shut it down in an autistic rage

switching to internal host

anyone know how I could pirate safely in a cuckstate of germany?
>>
>>108847842
Is your image supposed to be a video? I'm visiting Germany next week, what will I be fined for?
>>
>>108847842
just get a VPN and keep on doing what already works, depending on the trackers you're on even that might be overkill
>>
>now even GGnRPG items and badges are missing images
fuuuuck, I need to flex on plebs
>>
look basically i'm just not gonna do it (reupload my RED album artworks) ugh i know i know, it's just, i'm not doing it is all
>>
>>108847767
qrd? Does that mean it's coming back?
>>
>>108847899
good luck
don't torrent.

>>108847943
free VPNs don't support torrenting and paying for things kinda defeats the purpose.
also rutracker is the only private torrent I been on.
>>
>>108845835
is RED gonna force me to change all my uploads? I don't want to
>>
>Another "DCP" leaks
>All that is released is a shitty encode
Why do the scene groups do this? Does not releasing the real DCP really protect them or their source? Shouldn't the encode still give that away?
>>
>>108848439
I just wanna see what the raw file looks like
>>
>>108848439
It's not scene groups it's Russians. Trusting ziggers to do anything right ever is foolish.
>>
Is there a single PT that isn't infested by jeets? Other than the ChadZ network of course.
>>
>>108847203
more and more AB seems like the only competent tracker. and that's with a fucking gazelle code base.
>>
just confirming since GGN somehow got even shittier while i was switching clients: everything there stalls for hours before eventually downloading, right?
>>
>>108848853
their tracker has been shitting up like there's no tomorrow for weeks if not months on end so that's probably correct, yes.
>>
It really hurts when you need to choose between being a productive useful member of society and tearing someone a new asshole on the internet. Today I chose not being totally worthless.
>>
i have a vague recollection of listening to this album
>>
>>108846982
yes a lot better. it always goes to shit with private tracker "infra" these retards don't know what they're doing ptp goes down every month, zed took 3 months to change a domain, one opsec look at nzbs.in and you know they're retards stop confusing "le secret club" with competence.

Just implement a local caching layer for images so it's requested by a user only the first time from bandcamp or discogs.

I'm like the most avid user of collages on RED and guess what they're fucking unusable without covers.
>>
>>108846893
