its over for bst
uncensored:https://elfurro.s-ul.eu/bst/zD72tHM1.jpg>>108843645The last thread dying as abruptly as it did and with so few replies probably isn't a good sign. Nor is it when /v/ has healthier /bst/s these days (especially when they have the handicap of getting 404'd there half the time).
yada yada 16h goon session
I guess I missed this general
ghetto for now....but hey, its a desktop!not had one in four years.

>>108845019Very!>>108845030it is lovely! brother bought it for me...would have prefered new mb/cpu/ram but hey ho, gotta just work with what i've got.save a bit and finally come into modern era with an am4 or some such
>>108845062nice, I did that a couple years ago, changed the entire pespective of the setup, you'll love being in front of a window>>108845094a good case can grow with you, don't sweat it
Looking for a full-motion desk arm mount to fit a small screen on. The kind of arm that you can lightly push and move around without having to lock it.Any recommendations?
>>108843645>its over for bst>>108843675>/v/ has healthier /bst/s these daysI reply in both often. The /v/ thread is more likely to have a bunch staged/meme/shitpost setups. But it is more active.I rarely post pics of my own stuff though. Pretty much only when my setup changes, once every few years.>>108844610>>108845094Seems like you need a big ass shelf, just out of frame. Take the vertical approach to stashing your spare stuff.

>>108845472Are you going with an edge clamp option? Or can you drill a hole, to mount it that way?Maybe two weeks ago I got one of these for my bedroom setup. Vivo V101V, $80 when I bought it.It's quite similar to the one you posted--bottom swivels, top has the spring mechanism w/ the tilt/rotate functions at the very tip. None of the movement axes have a lock function.I went with the 'heavy duty' version because it's a 32" monitor. Info sheet says 21.83lbs/9.9kg weight. That's kind of the category limit; most of these monitor arms spec 22lbs & under, or 22 to ~44lbs. Stuff from this brand is cheap & easily modified, so I keep buying it. But based on past experience, I didn't want to be near the limit.I went with the through-hole option, even though this is mounted to a shelf I use as a nightstand. Typical Ikea construction. Drilling "through" it was more like going through the upper & lower skin/veneer, with a big void in the middle.Works fine though. I reinforced the underside with a spare 1/4" oak board (remnant from when I made dresser drawer dividers).I swapped two 6mm long slot drive M6 set screws (one at either end of the lower arm) for 4mm hex drive versions. It annoyed me how the other ones stuck out a little.Other than that, I put some teflon grease on the joints, adjusted the spring tension for the monitor I'm using. Most of the movement is smooth. Pulling the monitor in/out, left/right, and moving it up/down. I also rotate/switch from landscape to portrait regularly. All of that is fine. But adjusting tilt is not great. There's a counterspring in that joint, and you have to loosen it up with a 6mm hex to adjust. Otherwise it feels like you're really levering on the panel (100x100 vesa pattern). It's ok for how I use it (always laying in bed), but for someone who's going to adjust the tilt frequently, that might be a dealbreaker.
>>108843675Hello, hello El Furro! How is the Steam Controller? I heard Linux got SDL patches merged, so that the Controller works without Steam running in the BG.Cool GC Controller, is that the NSO one? Or is that a wired original?I think that's twilight princess decomp, nice. And on top of that, you are running Linux. based based based
>>108846515>How is the Steam Controller?Liking it so far, just not a fan of the glossy plastic they used for the shoulder/trigger buttons.>Cool GC Controller, is that the NSO one?NSO. Honestly kinda regret it, for how much it cost. Hopefully people will get it working on PC without much hassle soon so I won't regret it so much.>I think that's twilight princess decomp, niceYep.
>>108845472i have that one. its pretty great but squeaks after years of use.
>>108846453I'm going with edge clamp using a 16" portable monitor. But holy hell they are expensive. I'm seeing range from $70 to $100+ (even lightweight ones). Probably for a good reason but idk. My monitor is damn light, maybe like 3 pounds max. So I am considering making my own arm with wood, ball sockets, and springs. If it was a behemoth like yours, I would just buy. But this could be a fun diy project. And when I finally fail and waste like $30 on materials then I'll go and buy a real armature.
>>108846328Is that Barq's Red Creme Soda? Can't find that shit anywhere except Coke Freestyle machines where I live.
>>108846808What keyboard is that?
>>108845472I always recommend used Humanscale products when this question comes up. I've had their old M8, and now an M/Flex arm. We have their M/Connect system at the office. Overbuilt, crazy expensive at retail, and available under $100 on ebay. An M2 arm variant would be good for a single screen, and if you go bigger later it will still be useful.
