What made them so obsessed with building datacenters
>>
Was the sidebar bullying Africa really necessary?
>>
I am always impressed how terminally online even politicians in America are.
I live in one of those other countries on the list and most of our politicians are 60+ year old boomers wo don't know what "tick tock" or instagram is meanwhile American politicians are launching meme ad campaigns on xitter
Maybe it's one of the reasons why conservatism could prevail much longer there because they know how to leverage technology meanwhile every conservative in Europe doesn't know how to send an email and gets btfo'd by leftist idiots who know how to use a smartphone.

Probably because they pretty much run the internet, the global trade, all the AI companies and all the big tech companies as a whole

PRISM.
The US government is obsessed with spying on its citizens.
>>
>>108844241
Why did they exclude South America? Shouldn't we know how they stand in the rankings too
>>
>>108844255
Here in The Netherlands politicians are terminally online as well.
It both makes them aware what's going on in society and lets them promote themselves.
Politicians who spend less than 16 hours a day on social media lose out and won't get elected.

But it's problematic because they no longer do their jobs.
Instead of following debates they just stare at their phones.
It's so bad we might as well just abolish politics and just let civil servants make all the decisions.

Just two more datacenters and the US will be a super power again

corruption and bribes probably

this is obviously heading towards dotcom era Cisco-level crash. back then they also thought they needed infinite infrastructure.
>>
>>108844206
American investors are pretty much retarded and easily manipulated. You can sell them every stupid idea and they will pour billions into it.
>>
>>108844206
why do Africans need data centers? they don't even have stable electrical grid.
>>
>>108844206
this will fuck up hardware prices for years. and I don't mean like 2-3. I mean foreseeable future.
>>
>>108844206
They want the same types of control structures China has, but instead of using them to improve society, they want to use them to create a permanent underclass.

RIP Hawaii, the people will have no water and electricity soon

>yuge pile of money pours into the market
>most of it invested into storage and gpu tech
~3 years of temporary pain, then better hardware than we’d have otherwise. hardly the end of the world

The goys are becoming a bit too aware so the top dogs have pivoted hard into replacing them asap.

Israel isn't going to put those in their homeland as they're a disaster for the grid and the environment so they'll use their colonies instead.

Why are you posting a graph from some random African site? Are you some kind of nigger? If you're going to make a thread on /g/ the least you can do is get your data from a reliable first world source

Ireland has approximately 89 to 126 operational data centres

Europe hosts approximately 3,400 data centers across 45 countries, making it the second-largest regional market after North America

The idea of firing all wagies and keeping all that salary money makes shareholders cream their pants.
>>
>>108847276
yeah if you just count every country on earth and combine them together, they collectively have more data centers than the US. thanks for sharing anon
>>
>>108847276
I wonder who built and owns all those european data centers
>>
>>108844206
capitalism.
america is built on making profit regardless of how many bodies you put into the ground.
they're like ferengi but not fun and bad at it.
>>
>>108844306
they are spying on the world AND their citizens
>>
>>108844206
whats weird? they serve the internet to the rest of the world, isnt US main incoming services ??
>>
>>108847935
>he thinks global traffic is being served from U.S.

Nobody's paying the transoceanic transit if they don't absolutely have to because of legal restrictions (GPU export cap, data residency restrictions, etc.).
>>
Data centers existed before you were born, data centers existed before AI, and they will exist long after this current boom.
Plus the US is the birthplace of the internet, of course the US is dotted with many historical and independently owned data centers.
