Quite a while ago there was the usual debate about having or not the numpad on a keyboard. There were numerous examples of how useful the numpad is especially in workplaces and one anon said a sentence like this "Only blue collar workers need the numpad. CEOs don't need that".
I have a blue collar job and I use the numpad a lot, and every god damn day that very sentence comes back in my mind. Every. Fucking. Day.

also look into their weight, front height, typing angle degree, and internal/external design (if you have any particular preferences for the overall design)
ideally you'll want something that's shorter at the front and longer at the back to create a natural typing angle instead of a literal block that's the same height on both ends, which sucks for your typing posture and comfort
thankfully most boards aren't like that but some are (Monsgeek) so they're best avoided.

Have you ever tried a low profile keyboard? You might be able to get the same speed as on a thinkpad since the keys are flush and flat in a similar way.

People mistakenly think that "PBT" caps don't wear or become shiny. The reality of course is that all keycaps do. It's just plastic, and you're constantly polishing them with your fingertips over weeks, months and years of constant use. No plastic can withstand that... nothing can... plastic, metal, ceramic.... you name it, your fingers will polish it. Anyone who insists that you can't shine PBT caps just hasn't used them for long enough yet.

Breddy gud keyboard for the price and has probably the best resonant plastic case you can buy. Comes with good plate-mounted stabilizers and good quality low-profile SA keycaps (DSA or similar?) if you buy the IBM, Xbox, NES or Famicom versions, and what seem to be off-the-shelf SA keycaps for the Commodore 64 version.

The full-size has better quality keycaps than the TKL and numpad, FYI. Recommend buying it anyways because the numpad, while pretty cool and magnetically attaches to the right side of the keyboard on the IBM, Xbox and C64 versions, the NES and FC versions don't do that by default (the numpads have magnets in them, the TKLs don't), and you can't connect a keyboard and numpad to the same receiver, so they're gonna hog two USB ports if you try to put them together no matter what.

No, as in ABS is literally mixed in with the PBT. Back before MTNU was available such a mixture was tested as a possibility for the type of plastic to be used for the profile. Ultimately pure PBT was chosen over this mixture. The cheap "PBT" caps out there aren't pure PBT.

I'm far more concerned with colour, and the actual quality of the legends themselves, which are still unsurpassed for double shot.
Which is why SWG wins over GMK. Just look at the sharp legends on SWG Beige on the right. The other one is GMK Lime.

Kinda mediocre in personal experience with GMK DMG. They feel brittle despite not being so and Chinese clones of their own keycaps tend to have sharper legends. Would only recommend them if you *must* have a colorway and it's not possible to get it otherwise.

Of course. You're not going to see serious gains unless you go split ortholinear or whatever meme layout fits your style. The main point is feel (why not enjoy typing when you do it so often). Also that mechanical keyboards are infinitely more customizable, replaceable, easy to clean, robust, etc. I'm a fan of high quality membrane keyboards, but it is annoying how if they get dirty they're basically fucked. Also if you want to try a new layout or rebind a key you can't physically change it.

All PBT shines within six months. Anon is right. My MTNU has shine developing on the spacebar. My Shenpo sets have shine starting. It's FINE, it's not nearly as bad as ABS shine, but it doesn't take "years" for it to start.

Eventually I'll find a board for my CRP set and then I'll let you know whether that one shines too. But I really can't imagine that it wouldn't

Can I ask about mice in this thread? I'm running a Steam Deck-as-desktop, but the scroll wheel click doesn't register. Im using a Sharkoon Fireglider, its got nice features that I like, hardware macro tool and extra buttons. If anyone can think of a replacement that works on Linux correctly, or knows a fix, I would appreciate it.

I just want a TKL with the Enter key still at the very right. I think it's the only reason I won't go TKL because I can just tap the enter key with my right hand when using the mouse. I bought a TKL for work and the number of times I try to palm enter with my right hand is too high.

You do realize the little finger on right hands is opposite the side of the enter key when using a mouse? The point is to be able to hit enter with my right hand while still close to the mouse. There's a lot of stuff where I can type or macro with my left hand but the enter key is required to complete, which means either reaching all the way to the middle of the keyboard with my left or right hand instead of just tapping with my right quickly.

It's not for actual typing, it's for shit when you need to copy/paste stuff into forms or when I'm using some application and using hotkeys with my left and right mouse to do stuff. I obviously don't need an enter key on the far right when I'm typing, but a keyboard and mouse is for more than typing.

Need help I'm using an old ducky 65% keyboard and the win/alt swapped for no reason. I do not know if the FN is working.
