Lots of tales of the recent Ikea stuff being a bitch to pair with other nodes. Seems the older stuff (dirigera) worked reasonably well. The newer stuff seems to have phase-of-the-moon reliability. What's your concern with drilling holes?
If you don't want to drill a hole then don't.
You'll just have to run your cable the long way around the house to what ever opening you're willing to leave open for your cables to enter the home with.

If you don't want to connect it to the cloud then don't.
If it forces you to do so, the return it and buy one that doesn't.
Just run your shit through a home server or something. There are plenty of diy videos available online

WIFI sucks for security cameras. You need constant time smooth connections, not small bursts of activity. A proper setup should use 24/7 continuous filming. The crappy ones which activate on motion detection usually only end up catching a blur.

Really you need to see the intruders whole approach, have enough resolution to detect a face, and any AI/detection features can just tag events for you to review. Since you pretty much need Ethernet anyways, PoE is the way to go. Also make sure your cameras are never directly connected to the internet. They should be on a switch with an uplink to a dual NIC PC running your control software (or NVR if you're buying a prebuilt system). Home security can become as autistic as you like.

Only if you have regulatory requirements, otherwise you're burning storage for a fuck ton of non events.
Even real businesses that spend lots of $$ on camera setups don't do 24/7 recording unless they absolutely have to. And they only record a few things in 30 or 60 fps.
Most real businesses will record-on-event (door open, door close, badge read, etc) and will adjust recording schedules for different hours.

True, that's why most modern competent cameras will support on-device MoDet with some ability to record $interval prior to motion event.

You can get a solar powered camera. There are many chinese versions but honestly I'd recommend having a proper UniFi setup at the very least.
But yeah you can take this small solar panel that comes in a kit with the camera and it connects to your wifi and talks to the chinese cloud.
