The results have some surreal/fuzziness to them that make them feel a bit more "real". Modern image generators feel like they follow your prompt exactly and the result looks like the winning entry in a photoshop contest. DALL-E gens feel like actual images that were pulled out of an alternate reality or something. Like they already existed.

Beautifully said.
Every single time I hit 'create' and see those 3~4 images, I fall in love with it all over again.
It makes me wonder if they're shutting it down simply because it doesn't fit into today's corporate agenda of pushing sanitized content and dodging copyright issues at all costs.
It's going to leave a void that no other current generator can fill. I'll miss it forever... or at least until something genuinely similar takes its place.
Either they completely fail to understand the cultural impact it had, or they know exactly what they're doing and simply don't care.

A modern poster-style illustration. Minimalist background with abstract geometric shapes in tones of cream, muted gray, and bold red accents. On the right side, a realistic Doberman peers from behind a wall or curtain, with a tense, slightly aggressive expression, sharp eyes, and alert posture. Subtle red light highlights parts of the dog’s face and fur to create a dramatic, intense mood. Clean composition, no text, bold and cautionary atmosphere.

An expressive and moody scene of a Panthera spelaea ascending a scree slope in a glacial valley of Pleistocene Europe. The cave lion moves with the heavy deliberation of a predator in a world of scarcity, her breath rendering as delicate, wispy white touches—impasto highlights catching the golden dawn light that strikes the valley floor. This sunlight transforms the icy ground into a sheet of burnished bronze and pale citrine, reflecting in the animal's amber eyes and rippling across her whiskers with photographic exactitude. Riviere's trademark attention to anatomical structure is evident in the tension of her forelimbs and the subtle articulation of her spine, suggesting both power and profound weariness. The background dissolves into atmospheric perspective—sparse, stunted birch and pine rendered in loose, suggestive strokes that contrast with the tight, almost Pre-Raphaelite finish of the lion's face. The mountains beyond are suggested through scumbled, dry-brush techniques, their snow-capped peaks catching the same golden light that gilds the ice at the valley's base. Painted in the distinctive style of Briton Rivière with romantic realism. The mood is one of elegiac contemplation—a moment of suspended time where the ancient world holds its breath. There is no violence here, only the quiet dignity of survival against the creeping ice, captured with that specific Victorian sensibility that finds the sublime in the natural world while acknowledging its inherent melancholy. The palette is restrained to Riviere's signature earth tones: umbers and siennas dominate the feline's winter coat, while the landscape unfolds in muted ochres, slate grays, and the pale, dusty rose of dawn sky.
>>
>>108851991
The paint is applied in layered glazes—thin, translucent washes building depth over a visible, toothy canvas texture, creating that peculiar luminous flatness found in Riviere's best works, where light seems to emanate from within the pigment itself rather than from an external source.

A magnificent Irish Elk (Megaloceros giganteus) stands in a misty prehistoric European forest, rendered in the classical and realistic Victorian painterly style of Edwin Henry Landseer. The enormous antlers span up to 3 meters wide, with intricate palmate structure displaying dozens of delicate points, each rendered with meticulous fine brushstrokes that capture every nuance of bone and keratin texture. The massive yet graceful beast possesses a powerfully muscular and robust body covered in rich chestnut-brown fur, the short summer coat transitioning into longer darker winter pelage along its massive neck and shoulders.

The composition employs dramatic chiaroscuro lighting, with shafts of golden cinematic illumination piercing through the ancient canopy of towering conifers and broad-leaved trees that characterized the Pleistocene European landscape. The forest floor is carpeted with native grasses, ferns, and prehistoric vegetation, bathed in earth tones of deep umber, burnt sienna, and rich ochre. The elk moves with surprising elegance despite its tremendous size, antlers swaying gently as it traverses through ancient woodland.

The color palette emphasizes natural hues—deep forest greens, warm browns, golden light, and atmospheric grays—creating a serene yet haunting prehistoric atmosphere. The Victorian aesthetic is evident in the meticulous detail, the scientific precision combined with romantic sensibility, and the sense of observing nature in its most grand and primordial form. The painting conveys both the raw power of this magnificent extinct species and a profound sense of natural beauty and tranquility.

Oil painting in the style of John William Godward, delicate manga influence, exquisite fine brushwork, buttery smooth textures, soft pastel palette with rich purples, deep earthy terracotta, and warm golden undertones. A breathtakingly comely young woman with pale luminous skin, long flowing deepest brunette hair with subtle violet sheen, large expressive eyes, reclining seductively on an ornate antique sofa draped in luxurious fabrics. She wears an intricately patterned Roman toga with delicate gold embroidery, adorned with a heavy golden necklace that rests elegantly on her collarbone. Serene and romantic Greco-Roman atmosphere, soft diffused lighting, dreamy romantic mood, gentle shadows, ethereal beauty, masterpiece, best quality, ultra-detailed, 8k

1980s anime screencap, retro aesthetic. A comely heavy metal girl with chestnut hair and pale skin sitting in a driver's seat, looking out the open window. She is pulling down her reflective aviator sunglasses, smiling with hunger in her eyes and licking her lips. She wears a denim vest with patches. The lighting is warm and orange, typical of a late afternoon drive. Heavy film grain, vintage anime art style, detailed background.

I was referring to visual styles, ChatGPT/Image-2 blocks any reference to contemporary/living artists, Gemini/NBP doesn't care about anyone and in some instances it gets quite close to the actual artist's style. About public figures, I mostly prompt for satire the likes of Drumpf and Musk and they work in neutral-ish settings, but it does filter you heavily if you get "controversial"... That's not even about "deep fakes", as I always prompt in painterly/manga styles, it's just about avoiding controversies, which is sad.

Also, I gotta say that I've never been too sure about the whole "soul" thing, I like the beautiful and I'm satisfied enough with what I prompt, otherwise I would stop or change model.

Flow has fairly loose filters, except when it comes to references.

Whatever floats your boat, anon.

To be honest, I often find myself at odds with actual dog owners who just look at their own belly button, like most people do. I'm talking about those who scream about coyotes and wolves, because their dogs can do whatever their owners want and ownership doesn't imply any kind of responsibility. Like Serra here in Italy recently. But it's not just him, obviously. The average Karens and Kens are just as obnoxious. But if you let go of human essence, it becomes quite easier to handle the whole nonsense... They're just idiotic hairless monkeys being idiotic hairless monkeys... Nothing more and nothing less. Gotta call them out, but there's no point in hating them.

Models suck dig at "holding a revolver partially hidden behind back", either manging the wrist or insisting in showing the entire gun, so this definitely required editing.
Started with image-2 as base 1:1, flipped and 4:3 redraw with NBP, then flipped back.

Any suggesting for which generator can make me an R-18 RPG character sheet, which mentions p*ostitution and r*pe? There is no nudity, just text describing the character and their backstroy.

gpt image 2 blocked me.
