What's the thinkpad of electric shavers?

Shaving your beard is like injecting HRT

I have both the Philips OneBlade for chopping down the thick stuff and general body hair trimming, then I use the Panasonic Arc5 for keeping a clean shave on the neck/face day to day.

None of these actually shave down to the skin so they really should be called trimmers.
You buy them if you're trying to maintain the perma stubble look or are gonna follow up with a real razor.

>nah only upper lip hurts a bit and you can always do lidocaine and a palexia if needed.
i speak from experience and no, it's one of the most painful things i've ever experienced and i've been gravely wounded at different points in my life. but, I used topical lidocaine and won't accept opioids. also, you must be at least 18 years or older to post on this website. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/baneposting
>>
>>108847314
1) never happens to me
2) they were called "safety razors" for a reason. A skin nick is not the same as an artery slice.
>>
>>108847030
Eh. I have thick mustache and chin beard, but my cheeks are spare and patchy. I have to shave them.
>>
>>108847358
I'm also speaking from experience which I guess shows there's high variability. I just raw dog my electrolysis when I get it done. it was more painful than my tranny surgeries to be honest
>>108847380
clean up the bad spots permanently so you can rock cooler styles with less maintenance
>>
>>108847026
I have a Philips Oneblade similar to that in the pic and I only use it for shaving my legs. It's ok I guess. Not sure if there are any better options in a similar price range, but I got it because of the positive reviews.
For my face and everything else I use regular Gillette disposable razors.
>>
>>108847417
if you're shaving your legs you might as well get an epilator. a bit painful the first time but long term it is better for your skin and you also don't get itchy as the hair grows back
>>
>>108847030
kek.
>>
>>108847430
>you also don't get itchy as the hair grows back
That sounds good, I didn't know that. It seemed like it would hurt like a bitch in general and if it messed up, the regrowth phase would be even worse. But yeah, that's the most annoying part of it, and having to do it every week.
I've been thinking about laser treatments but I heard mixed reviews about how permanent it is. They're also very expensive.

>>108847430
it's 2026, just IPL your gross male hair till it's gone
>>
>>108847417
How close is the shave with a oneblade?
it always seemed like a product meant to make you keep buying consumables, is it any better than ceramic trimmers that purposefully stop at 1mm from the skin so you can't nick yourself?
>>
>>108847026
>thinkpad

There's plenty of cheap junk razors
>>
>>108847026
Just get a regular ass disposable safety razor you faggot.
>>
>>108847551
so
epilators don't hurt that much after the first time. they also slightly reduced regrowth but not by much
laser - a shit technician will have you doing infinity sessions. a good place will be done in like 3 or 4 sessions (trans run is better than the normal clinics since they need actual results for surgery and stuff)
electrolysis is the only permanent method since it properly kills the hairs but is slow. the general thought is if there must not be hair there it has to be electro

for laser pricing you often want Groupon deals or stuff like that. should be about $40 per session for face, $200 for full body.
>>108847562
I have heard so much mixed results about IPL and I can't find any good evidence on it
>>
>>108847277
you're a big guy
>>
>>108847593
>How close is the shave with a oneblade?
pretty dang close, it's great if you've got really sensitive skin and no razor or technique seems to do it
>it always seemed like a product meant to make you keep buying consumables
it is, i've always felt it was despicably priced and the consumables were deliberately fragile but it works and is readily available
>is it any better than ceramic trimmers that purposefully stop at 1mm from the skin so you can't nick yourself?
it's better than any trimmer i've used, but i was never really a shaving snob. you CAN nick yourself with a oneblade but it's not that bad and is kind of hard to do.
>>
>>108847593
It is close, a lot closer than the trimmers that stop at 1mm. More comparable to a razor. You have to shave against the grain with it, but it's clean and you can't cut yourself with it and you can work pretty quickly.
It is a product that makes you keep buying overpriced blades, though I only got it 3 months ago and haven't had to replace it.
>>
>>108847593
It's serviceable. You only get it because it's easy to use and you don't need wet shave or anything.
Shit like OP's foil ones will rape your skin and the radial ones are hit or miss, and you should probably do them wet too.

use an electric trimmer to trim as much as possible then use a DE, pull the skin taut and shave carefully with a fresh blade, you're more likely to cut yourself with a dull blade since it forces you to push into the skin to cut anything.

>>
>>108847026
I know it is annoying when people suggest an alternative (like the good old stackoverflow answers) but I heavily recommend to just trim your beard with a regular hair clipper and leave some stubble. I go over my beard with a 3mm guard, and then do the patchy edges without a guard so it is really close to shaving.
>>108847810
>>108847877
>>108847891
Does it make sense to manscape on a clean-shaved-level when I have hairy thighs, buttcheeks, taint, and anus? It is basically a continuous carpet (with different shades of yellow and orange) below my belly button in the front and below my beltline in the back. I think it would look weird if my ballsack is clean-shaved dangling between hairy thighs. Right now I just trim with a clipper.
I am also considering shaving the entirety of my body just because I have huge bald spots on my thighs (pic related not me, but similar). The only thing stopping me is that I will probably have to spend an hour or two every day shaving.
I thought about laser as well but apparently it doesn't work for light hair.
>>
>>108848674
touching up stubble with a trimmer is way easier than shaving regularly, body hair isn't nearly as dense or thick

I'm not asking for a lot. Just sell me an electric razor with a battery that works plugged in and attachments that clip on. My razor's battery is dead so I have to shave fast before the battery dies. The assholes as Braun intentionally made it ewaste because the minute I plug it in it turns off and goes into charging mode. I can't just run it off of wall power. And the guard/attachments I use slide on (and slide off!) instead of clipping on. They've been making these pieces of shit for decades and haven't resolved basic usability issues.

safety razer is great, plus extremely cheap. Pretty fast If you keep your beard trimmed constantly and on top of it.

Beyond that I use a Philips Oneblade for all over my body. Especially in places i wouldn't trust a safety razer even. It's great, more expensive but way faster and can get just as good as a shave plus nice trims if you don't want to get entirely smooth (it's more healthy for you just to trim btw)

don't actually use it on your balls, it's a rotating drum of clamping tweezer heads, it's not going to be as delicate as an oscillating blade
if you're using it on your legs, you absolutely must have an exfoliation routine or you're going to have so many ingrown hairs

honestly i'd limit it to pits usage if you're a guy
the hair is just too thick otherwise
even then it's less convenient than shaving your pits, it's just kind of one of those self-torture devices you own that makes you feel alive once every few years
>>
>>108853918
agree with the other, balls land face are off limits. but legs, butt, arms, tummy are all fine

Wew, once a month would be a huge improvement. Depending on the amount of preparation you need compared to shaving, even twice a month could be an improvement. As long as you don't feel like dying from the pain as it regrows, that is.

I use a trimmer. I used to cut my face to ribbons back as a 20 year old. I think it's fucking pointless, the trimmer gets it close enough, the blades haven't worn out, and the close shave from a razor feels horrible for hours.

I think these close or disposable razors are like makeup is for women - is it worth permanently damaging your skin, just to look slightly better or maybe even worse depending on your face?

for me it's zero prep. you can do it after showering apparently it's easier but I just raw dog it like I've said. no pain or ingrowns. the pain is not that bad once you get used to it

I recently bought a Pansonic arc5 and the shaving experience isn't much different than the cheap $40 electric razor I got from walmart years ago. I don't get it.

This is THE best shaver out there. Yes, it's Chinese. No, it's not cheap. If you've ever used it, you'd know it's the best one.

>shaving
I haven't shaved in like 20 years. why the fuck would anyone do that? just trim as much as possible. no one gives a shit.

not everyone is a hairless estrogen-rich soiboy

how does one learn to trim the beard? what exactly does trimming entail? is it just razor shaving cheek/neckbeard so there's a visible line?
I always just "shave" it all with the #1 guard but a female (woman) coworker told me I'd look better with a cleaner trim

projecting much?

>>108855591
you can do it with a fucking hair cutter man. just get the blades close to the hair, but in parallel to your skin, otherwise you'll end up cutting yourself.
these things have instruction manuals, you know...

what are you talking about schizo?

I bought a 20$ trimmer/shaver 5 years ago and it's still going strong.

>>108847030
You can shave the beard on your neck and trim the beard growing under your jaw and on your face. Nice virtue signaling though.

double edge razor
electric shavers are garbage

with this you can buy 100 blades for 7 dollars and it will take years for you to use all of them

I have thick hair so only an old fashioned razor works on my face and I have stubble next day already. I guess I have high test which is good. For rest of the body - Braun epilator and recently started Braun IPL. For balls - a cheap amazon bikini trimmer.

Tf am I supposed to use with atopic dermatitis both shaving and not shaving irritates my skin. Creams would be convinient but they're apparently the worst. Safety razor meh hard for some parts gets clean if you try and cuts if you fail. OneBlade requires multiple shaves and still leaves some. It's so much hassle I'd just get laser and use sensitive cream for any body parts If I had money/time. Some recommend foil shavers but idk if budget like Braun Series 3 are good.

Safety parts for OneBlade. I don't bother with it for now. It doesn't get everything

I have a similar issue, fucking razors don't cut through my facial hair but instead grab onto them and pull them out... not only does it hurt but also makes my skin ugly, so I just use a multi function shearer/trimmer

I feel you, I try the razor every couple of weeks and conclude that I should stick to the oneblade shaver/trimmer

Panasonic lamdash line or gtfo

I import them from Japan due to them not being sold here

You're scared of shaving because you injected hrt and are scared you'll never grow them back.
Real men have beard that grows back.
Heh
