It's cute when you're trying to find the alternative, but come on.
>>

What's wrong with Natron?

>Gimp, Libreoffice

ALERT, this person is unemployed and xe does not use any software for anything productive ever, do not interact with this thread

I'll start with the ButtleOFX - it's been dead for 13 years or so. The entire chart is full of abandonware. Natron is also an abandonware and it's not even an alternative to After Effects. It's just a compositing editor.
Davinci Resolve is a better alternative to After Effects, but it's not open source.
>>
>>108850853
I don't really care if something is abandonware; it's not like movies weren't made with After Effects 20 years ago. I just care if it gets the job done, and Natron seems like a fine compositor.

I got an old ass cracked copy of photoshop cs5 and a wine prefix for it, I aint using furry goon mascot krita or some homos bell pepper sprayer

That's the neat thing. It doesn't.

enjoy either getting hacked by cracks or paying out the ass for licensing if you ever try to sell or profit something with adobe slop (yes even using their "free student/teacher" license and be prepared to have to re-register anually to keep that "free" all while they spy on you to "make it a better product"

>>
>>108854598
If you try to edit text you rotated in GIMP, it un-rotates your text. It cannot keep the rotation. Photoshop doesn't have that problem and I'm shocked not only that such a problem even exists, but it still hasn't been fixed in 2026.

Drawing a circle is one thing, being able to easily edit it after you've created it is another. Adjusting the stroke size, changing the stroke between solid and dashed, disabling the fill and making it stroke-only, modifying the gradients, etc.

If you're a hobbyist use whatever you want.
If you want to work and get paid you use what the industry uses, even if you don't like it.
I don't think anyone actually enjoys using Adobe programs, we just get used to it.
>>
>>108850746
>GIMP is not as good as Photoshop
>LibreOffice is not as good as Microsoft Office
>Wine doesn't fix every app Linux doesn't natively support
No anon, regular people are not learning inferior alternatives of enterprise software to make the switch to switch to an already less convenient OS ecosystem.
>>
>>108856149
Fuck I said the same thing twice
>>
>>108853252
Absolutely, the only real downside Photopea has is resource bottlenecks due to it being a browser app. Otherwise it's the only viable Photoshop alternative (considering GIMP can't even go head to head with PS CS6)
>>
>>108850746

I know the concept is obscure to you, but if you ‘go professional,’ you also start making money of your own. Also you should be donating money or time to FOSS, otherwise you’re just a worthless leech.

That means I have the freedom to not give FOSS devs any of my money. Not until they all learn how to make UI/UX that can be used by actual human beings.

Normalfags don't use native office apps at all anymore. They use browser shit. Google sheets and office365.
>>
>>108857334
People use whatever they're told to use, in most offices you have zero control, you can't even delete shortcuts from the desktop let alone install and run your own software.
>>
>>108854612
I'm surprised by this, because you can edit rotated text in Krita and that's a digital paining software not an editor lol

So yes, there are such people.

are all the adobe things even top dogs in their the respective fields? the only ones i've actually heard people talk about acrobat (and even then mostly the reading part, not the editing), photoshop, premier, so the rest must be more niche "graphic designer with a macbook" stuff
