Two things everyone needs to know:1 - Stop clicking “Buy Now” immediately. If you keep browsing the item + checking competitor listings without buying, Amazon drops the price. Their algorithm reacts to interest in competitor prices.2 - If it says “Shipped by Amazon” but it’s sold by a 3rd party seller, when you need to return it for free as advertised, Amazon disappears and the seller starts fooling you with excuses.3 - Search for generic devices or accessories and Amazon pushes cheap Chinese junk to the top. You only see good options if you already know the exact brand and model.Fell free to add other scams endorsed by Amazon.
>Using amazon
>>108850907If they say you need x amount more for free shipping. Try to checkout with 70% that amount, oftent shipping is already free then.
>>108850916Whats the alternative? Every other site is more expensive
I heckin' LOVE capitalism!
>>108850907We don't do that in germany
>>108850916Fpbp>>108850957Literally anything else. No it isn't the cheapest.
>>108851152Show any competition, smartypants.
1. Blatantly false2. Typically false, you can usually return that stuff direct to Amazon and they figure it out since the seller uses them for all fulfillment. If Amazon didn't ship it yeah, good luck3. TrueSource: I work in Amazon last mile corporate
>>108851152It used to be the cheapest. Then chink sites were cheaper, but nowadays they're identically priced. It's gotten so bad that buying from the corner store is literally less expensive now. They used to cry crocodile tears about how they don't have the network to compete with amazon's low prices a few years ago, too.
>>108851309Can confirm.Source: I use amazon sometimes.
>>108851152>>108851314In my experience it's been like this>currently made and mainstream productsAmazon is the cheapest>no longer produced, overstock or grey market shitEbay is cheapest/only option>chink shit that is trivial to shipaliexpress but if you really need to this week then amazon is a few bucks more expensive>chink shit that is NOT trivial to shipAmazon, bar none. It's almost amusing to think about how there are people on ebay and ali paying for something like 3d print filament and paying MORE to get their SLOWERThere is also hobby stuff that is really expensive on any marketplace platforms that's cheaper local or at a specific online store.
>>108850916>>Using amazonAbsolutely they aren't always the cheapest but when they are bang for the buck.
>>108850907>1 - Stop clicking “Buy Now” immediately. If you keep browsing the item + checking competitor listings without buying, Amazon drops the price. Their algorithm reacts to interest in competitor prices. This is not true, however what I have noticed is that they really want you on that website so they will sometimes try to push a deal with you log in.>3 - Search for generic devices or accessories and Amazon pushes cheap Chinese junk to the top. You only see good options if you already know the exact brand and model.Yeah and no it's a mix. And not always the stuff you want. And searching and filtering is fucking garbage you are better of using the homepage or through a 3rd party website.
>>108850907>3Something came along to help with thathttps://github.com/chris-mosley/AmazonBrandFilterThough sometimes I disable it anyway because sometimes that cheap shitty chinkshit is what I actually need for something
>>108851415>Absolutely they aren't always the cheapest but when they are bang for the buck.Sorry I think I had some stroke, what I mean is.That when you find a product on a sale there is a good chance it is the cheapest price you can find it for, not always. The Lows are a lot lower when it does happen. But typically most of the time yes, everywhere else is cheaper for most of the shelf life of the product.
>>108850924Once I needed ten more cents to get free shipping and checked one of those sites that list cart fillers. For ten cents there was a book 'Agile for Managers'. Seemed to be about the right price for an Agile book.
>>108850907Nice AI slop thread
Companies will list new items as an updated version for old items to import the review and questions history. Then they buy a bunch of new reviews so if you sort by new it's a sea of 5 star review bots.It also renders camelcamelcamel useless because the historical pricing doesn't mean anything anymore.
>>108850907> number 1For that to be true the would need a tracker paired with a scraper that would track every activity the user does. Very difficult to implement from a technical standpoint
I always just set Keepa or CamelCamelCamel alerts for the lowest price and buy it then. Most stuff I don't need immediately. Although things are a shitshow now with everyone using tariffs as an excuse to push higher prices.
>>108851309Fuck off, neet. You don't know shit what's going on Amazon.
>>108851866Congrats, you are tech illiterate. Next time, don't post.
>>108851849Always go straight for the 1-star reviews.
>>108850907>2 - If it says “Shipped by Amazon” but it’s sold by a 3rd party seller, when you need to return it for free as advertised, Amazon disappears and the seller starts fooling you with excuses.Maybe I am too good of a customer for Amazon with a large purchase history and high "sugar score" or something but this has never been my experience. Whenever I click return and I do return things very often and ship back incomplete parts even at times, Amazon just bends over backwards and immediately honors a full refund. I never once had to deal with the actual third party seller except for them begging me to not return it and throwing incentives my way.
