itt best software
I wished it was still developed. Would be cool if they made it compatible with voice to speech, to fill in the gaps. Say you only have official subtitles for an Theatrical release when an extended one exist.

Still the GOAT of file managers.Latest version: 11.57, May 7th 2026
>>108852751It is so good it scares me. Is it real? Was it not sold to some 3-letter agency of a random country? It's been years, you know. Original dev might have died of old age.
>>108852808Christian Ghisler was born in 1969, so he's around the same age as Linus Torvalds. If Linus can maintain the kernel for over three decades, then Mr. Ghisler can develop TotalCmd for over three decades. One of the few times I've paid for software.
>>108852285The feels...
>>108851299Grab the latest release from github, then vibe code some companion scripts to do what you want.It might be clunky and it wouldn't be great for wider release, but it would probably do exactly what you wanted it to do.

>>108856208It annoys me it's qt based even though it looks like ancient gtk2 softwarestill the best player on linux
>>108856245Built in icon themes and qt5config help it blend in well enough for me. Love it. SMPlayer + Qmmp cover all of my audio and video playback needs.
>>108856284true, but it's still bad that I need to install qt dependencies just for this one program
>>108853795>>proprietary standardCD and DVD aren't?
>>108857298anyone can make a CD or DVDBD needs Sony's supervision and paid tributeif we go by your logic, SATA and IDE are also proprietary hard drive standards
>>108857596I see. I assumed CDs and DVDs also required Sony's approval and charged royalties. I wouldn't put it past them though.

>>108851114>>108851119>>108852059These are the three programs that I really miss after switching to Linux. The equivalent software just isn't the same.
>>108863218Renaming utilities are far better on Linux. Cinnamon, Xfce and KDE have great built-in ones, plus GPRenamer and Szyszka are fantastic. SMPlayer mogs MPC in every way. The only one you're right about is paint.net. It's great. Pinta used to be a strong contender, but it's less capable after the switch to GTK4.
