>tfw fell for the Seagate meme
>>108859284The only Seagate meme I know of is that they've always sucked ass which is true.
You fell for the spinning rust inside your actual PC meme
the what
>>108859849yeah but in 1 day?
maybe read what they write about hd sentinelusually about three hundred bad sectors are when its drive time to go
>>108859284Days know whats funny? I clicked backup my oc a while ago and I had a 2tb hdd and a 2tb ssd. Well, they were both getting full over time but I wasnt installing anything. A video game I played was keeping telemetry files saved and had amassed 400gb and the backup on the had somehow was 1.6tb. Discovering that shit was a good day
more like peegate
>>108863772What about kneegate
>>10886315195 to 59 in 1 day is a surer sign it's the drive's time to go
>>108863683average CoD experience
>>108859284doesn't mean much, mine is like this for like a decade and still works just fine.over 100k hours on it since seagates roll over at 78k or so.other one D: is exactly the same model and has 18 bad sectors.
>>108859284>fell for the Seagate memeYou were warned against them yet bought anyways.
>>108864402I like the name "Seagate". Current logo is horrible tho. Bring back the old stuff.
>>108859284Seagate = Seacrate.Always has been this way, they acquired better companies like Wren and closed them down.
>>108859284>11 thousand stops/starts in 151 daysstop turning it off and on retardotherwise if it's just a bad drive try to get something out of the warranty
>>108859284you ran it on an OS expecting ssds as a sstem drive and left a swap file on it did't you
>>108859357Cheetahs circa early 2ks were pretty nice for the time.
>buying shitgateyou get what you deserve
Man how did they survive for so many yearsI had 5, FIVE fucking seagate HDDs in the 2000s die on me quickly. Thought they'd get a little better but apparently not?
even with WD being shady in the past with that CMR/SMR stuff, they're still somehow better than memegate
How exactly did Seagate make such a name for themselves if everyone got faulty drives like this?It makes zero sense. Hard drives are not supposed to be so fragile. Either Seagate was dropping turds from the beginning or it's some colossal fuck up that affected consumer-grade HDDs.
>>108859284>start stop count over 10kThis isn't even on Seagate at this point.
>>108865042they are rated for hundreds of thousands of start/stop counts
>>108859284
I had a Seagate HDD that lasted for 12 years and was still running fine by the end. I don't even use HDDs now though
>>108865027Honestly I think WD just hides bad sectors better. In my experience a Seagate with bad sectors continues functioning. However with WD, once you start accumulating bad and pending sectors, the drive is done. I assume WDs just obfuscate issues in firmware before it's critical.
what's wrong with sneedgate?
>>108863683Vidyas are kind of wasteful with data management and write cycles, RPGs excessively soWalk forward 20 meters, change a zone or enter a building(once or multiple times every minute in normal gameplay)? ok fucko i'll delete and rewrite your whole 100+ megabytes autosave that includes the whole world, enemy positions etc instead of comparing and changing just the relevant data that changed compared to the last one. It's not even a standard feature to let you change the savefile directory without also moving your whole documents folder, fat chance if it's in appdata. This is even without considering you're rewriting the same spot on HDDs(if you don't defragment before every session or move other data around), SSDs suffer too from lower write cycles.
