Placebo.

Nothing, dust still lands all over the place and you still inhale it. After three weeks my dust filter had hardly anything kn it. You need the industrial ones.
>>

the same things mentioned in your last thread.

worthless shit.
>dusty
>on all day
>Dust everywhere in single small room.
if you want it for getting rid of chemicals you are much better of just opening a window
if you have hvac just upgrade your filter to a higer rating.
that device is worthless and would ahve rather spent the $90 on beer.

maybe if you live in a third world country where burning tires in a neighborhood counts as recycling.
in the U.S even in new york the air quality is better than the air quality in the a house with closed windows.
Cleaning chemicals will kill you.
>>
>>108863590
it doesn't have to be on all days.

and devices where the filter is more or less directly in between the to the inlet and fan outlet are vastly more efficient than filters on the long tubes of hvac tho

reducing the flow rate on hvac on an ingress/egress filter still amplifies the losses by all the tube system losses too if you want to return to whatever target flow rate you have.

the usa has a lot of places with traffic, coal power or poorly filtered industrial/waste burning though of course the places with improvised waste burning and completely unregulated heating may be worst.

the point being even in many places in the USA an air filter against particulates will not be useless.

I had one to keep the cat smell down, it worked until the cat pissed on it.
>>
>>108863656
You should get male cats neutered or they will piss everywhere. My ex had both her cats done but something happened where a bit of skin was left and it kept one of the cats pissing. She was a tramp when I left, stunk of piss

depends on room size and if you keep your door closed and if you have your AC running with a good filter. I have multiple plus i have home made box fan ones and I can really tell the difference. However minute amount of dust does still accumulate. Dusting and wiping the walls vacuuming the floor helps as welll

Every HVAC company will tell you the same thing:
1. Don't rely on HVAC to purify the air
2. The HVAC filter is there to protect the equipment, not your lungs

That being said, you can put a MERV 6 or 7 in them usually, wouldn't go higher
>>
>>108863591
seen a realword dust measure test of the xiaomi air purifier.. and basically you must run it on 100% fan power or it does nothing... the moment you switch it to auto and the fan slows down to like 10% it does nothing

i have xiaomi air purifier 4 i dont care about the noise and at 100% fan power most of the day (except sleep) there was significantly less dust accumulation in the room... the only problem is the filter accumulates the dust (and bacteria) over time and you need to buy new one.. thats why i havent used it in 6months, i must buy new filter someday
>>
>>108863724
it works but you must push significant amounts of air thru it and most of you normies wont endure 100% fan speed noise all the time
>>
>>108863597
wud does that mean?
>>
>>108863577
If you have ever had to clean dust out of your computer, you will know these don't do "nothing".
They're not magic that will catch every spec of dust in the air in a day, but they are collecting dust slowly.
>>
you did the brainlet thing and bought the tiniest purifier with the tiniest fan and smallest filter possible.
Larger filter, less air resistance, more airflow. Larger fan, more airflow for less noise.

I was gonna make a post about custom PC fan air purifiers, but it's clear I'd be wasting my time here. /g/ stands for /jeets/ now
>>
>>108865431
that makes no sense. it'll filter even at a lower air flow, just slower. most particles in the air that you could breathe in will still get pulled into the filter eventually. and with a pollen allergy i can tell the difference even on a slower filter. it doesn't depend on brand, some ikea filter also works.

auto on most of the xiaomis is IIRC mostly based on optical particle measurements which works ok as far as I can tell. more particles, speed goes up. so it'll react to you opening and closing a window with pollen/air pollution outside.
>>
i have one i dont use the app and vacuum the filter every so often reusing it cause they arent cheap, stays on high 24/7

I bought one of the bigger ones for my small bedroom to help with seasonal allergies after reading plenty of good reviews about it. Left it on max 100% speed nearly 24/7 because I wear headphones usually, and I actually like the sound at night, it helps me sleep. Did absolutely nothing for my allergies so I returned it. Overpriced fan
>>
>>108869173
your air was 100% clean you retard unless you opened the window or something
>>
>>108869183
I wouldn't dare open a window during peak seasonal allergy time. If the air was "100% clean" why was I still getting raped by allergies? Literally snake oil

But there's also the mats of filter material that can be cut to size

Disappointment. But I dont imagine you have extremely high hopes for it anyway. It is a cheap product.
>>

That's bullshit.
