is there a more insufferable "tech" person than someone who owns a Framework laptop?

This thing has to be the biggest scam that's been eaten up by midwits and larpers
>>

We dont think about you at all
>>
Framework won. Chinovo lost. I'm sorry anon. I know it's hard for you to understand that someone with heritage from the Indian subcontinent actually succeeded, but life is full of surprises.
>it's overpriced!
Yes. Products of capitalism are, when sold new, always priced higher than their actual value, especially those which are high quality and are thoughtfully designed. That's a fundamental principle of finance and profit.

Don't worry anon. Just a few weeks of flipping burgers and you too can afford the crippling expense of a $1500 laptop.

Arch users
>>
>>108864778
I tried one and the Wifi didn't work out of the box. You would think this problem has been solved by now, but it has the same problems as when I tried Ubuntu 10 years ago.
>>
>>108864778
seeth more faggot
>>
>>108866066
That's probably true but I've never met an Arch user in the wild before

>>108866057
Lenovo is mostly garbage but I would rather buy a Macbook with an arm chipset and 20 hour battery over a Framecuck anyday
>>
Framework:
>Good price/value
>100% Linux-compatible
>Great keyboard
>Repairable and upgradeable
>Designed in the US, assembled in Taiwan

Lenovo Chinkpad:
>Overpriced, costs more than Framework for same specs
>>inb4 but you can pick up a 2008 Thinkpad on eBay for cheap!!!
>Might or might not run Linux, depends on the model
>Fn and Ctrl are the wrong way round
>Soldered RAM lmao
>Made in Communist China

LARPers use old thinkpads

>still no proper touchpad with actual buttons
Into the trash it goes

If even a prototype 3rd party proper touchpad was available, I would unironically buy a framework laptop on a heartbeat, even if they cost 2x the current retard prices.
Bonus points if 14'' models with gpu-capable back module.
But the touchpads are really the thing that is impossible to get on any other laptops right now and is killing me. If I need to get a mouse out to even use a laptop in the first place, why is it a laptop instead of a desktop? Yesteryear's touchpads were so good I literally played competitive FPSs with them and still did OK. Today they're so bad I can't even successfully drag and drop a file in a folder half the time.

Apple users obviously. They finally got their expensive toys to be something descent and nearly all videos are about how Apple is soooooo good, how it cures youe cancer, improves your mood and makes you gay.

In what fucking world? Here in Russia that would give you at maximum ~550 USD per month after taxes, and you're gonna spend most of it on food.or rent.
>>
>>108866809
>Here in Russia
lol, explains this thread: pure zigger copium.
>>
>>108866827
This is not my thread at all, Framework doesn't even sell in Russia, and I prefer MacBooks over any Windows laptop
>>
>>108864778
Someone who owns a macbook. They'll fuck you in the ass without giving you a reacharound.
>>
>>108866809
don't worry, Putin will share his wealth after he finishes genociding Ukraine
>>
>>108866809
why aren't you growing your own food and living rent free in your dacha? land is cheap in Russia and you don't even need a car.

Zig is better than rust.
*sips*

>>108864778
All I need from them is Framework 10
I want muh netbook
>>
>>108867039
What does this have to do with anything?

you're replying to the "russia literally hitler" bot. I thought they were only on /k/ but apparently not.

Framework enthusiasts are just dreamers. They see the potential in things while ignoring the reality of what it is.
>look you can use your old motherboard as a mini pc! This is somehow better than just buying another laptop and using your old one as is!
>think of all the cool usb-c cards they'll develop! I want a parallel port!
>a gpu slot?? Wow think of all the cool things we'll be able to attach to our laptops in the next 30 years! I'm sure the single gpu available is just temporary and there will be pages upon pages of expansion cards coming!
Redditors buying into promises and being left with sunk cost fallacies.

>Framework enthusiasts are just dreamers. They see the potential in things while ignoring the reality of what it is.
Well yes, that's kinda the whole premise of the thing.
>>
>>108868098
That WAS the premise. It's been 6 years since the first framework laptop. Time to stop dreaming.

>I would rather buy a disposable soldered garbage toy for homosexuals with a 20 hour battery life than something built to last and built to be upgraded with a 20 hour battery life
Why are cucks like this?
>>
>>108864778
Brave users.
>>
>>108864778
>i don't want to to be free, i want you inside my walled garden
we know, apple
>>
Gaymework is the stupidest concept of all time. You are not going to "upgrade" your fucking laptop (or your desktop) in 5 years because everything else will be obsolete as shit.
The real play is to buy a refurb laptop for less than a thousand, and when/if it fucks up, buy a new one
>muh soldered ram
i'm mid 40's and have never had RAM go bad in a laptop and I've had so many I have had like 11 laptops. I am not even sure how many laptops I've had. Never had to "replace the ram"
this is some gay fantasy 'bugout bag' doomsday prepper logic. You guys are dumb as fuck.
Also, macbooks are straight up better than any x86 laptop. you're gay
>>
>>108868505
Found the dirty console peasant.
Have been upgrading this computer piecemeal for over 13 years now. Nothing's getting obsolete. Last thing I upgraded was adding an extra 16gb ram 2 years ago. Before that, new GPU 7 years ago.
>>
>casually mention to my buddy that I'm thinking about getting a mba
>A FUCKING MACBOOK? ARE YOU A FUCKING WOMAN? GET A FRAMEWORK BRO!
>YOU CAN UPGRADE IT OR SOMETHING!!!!!!
insufferable

>>108868655
>Last thing I upgraded was adding an extra 16gb ram 2 years ago
wow I bet your computer is so much better now. and a 7 year old GPU.
bet that 2000 something dollar machine totally plays AAA games like a 500 dollar PS5 i could go buy right now huh
>>
>>108868678
>>casually mention to my buddy that I'm thinking about getting a mba
you're no different than a vegan
>>
The Pro looks kind of cool, but I'd like to physically fondle one before committing to buy it.
Laptop feel is pretty important to me, more than specs really.
>>
>>108868725
The 5 years average cost of the machine is $650 and plays the latest AAA slop at 4x the resolution your ps5 can achieve, with something like 10x the graphics fidelity at a stable 144fps while you can't even keep 20 fps on your end.
>>
>>108868741
>just don't talk about things you're doing
Okay, what should I talk about then?

I own a framework, a Latitude, an Elitebook, a Thinkpad and a Macbook

Framework mogs the shit out of all of them, anyone who says otherwise is a salty little bitch with sunk cost fallasy
>>
