Will AI lead to the death of capitalism, considering a growing population coupled with a decline in jobs?
>>
>>108864949
No, capitalism and its product, the AI, will lead to a post-scarcity world.

You can already generate any art, music, writing, math, code, video, for almost pennies, where in the past, it would have cost tens of thousands to millions of dollars each.

And every single person on the entire planet has access to this technology. Abundance of creativity and abundance of work output for literally free.

Get a load of this naive goy.

>No, capitalism and its product, the AI, will lead to a post-scarcity world.
With the current technology and science we have right now, we could already have a post-scarcity world. So the question is, why don't we?
>>
One can hope that's the outcome. Most likely things will get far FAR worse before then though.
Or it all devolves into corporate feudalism.
>>108864970
What happens when nobody can afford the AI because they have no job or income.
Even if we get UBI what's to stop the tech elite from simply controlling the standard of living for others? Say something mean to Mr. CEO? Looks like you no longer can have your robot make you food!
>>
>>108864970
>capitalism and its product, the AI, will lead to a post-scarcity world
All of that is commie nonsense. There is no "capitalism", there's free market, or market under total control of some entity, like a single monopoly, a communist party and so on. There is no "post-scarcity", because resources in the world are finite.
You fucking degenerate, why are you even making noises if you don't know the most basic of things? How can you be on tech board if you fail to understand that resources to make said tech are finite?
>>
>>108864949
No, increasing wealth inequality will lead to the death of capitalism. It doesn't need any help.
>>
>>108865031
>What happens when nobody can afford the AI because they have no job or income.
I use all those tools for free. Free products are available from almost every AI company with daily limits. Just swap from one company to another. Hell, you can run models from your computer on a single 8GB GPU and 16GB ram.

>>108865037
Commie nonsense is government ownership of AI, government restriction on AI, and government control of AI. Thats something Europe wants to do. Even China, the supposed communist state, is laissez-faire on allowing domestic companies to produce any AI models, sell, give away, train, any model. China now controls the open source free model market.

you dont have to be a religious to recognize the inherent harm of envying what others have, comparing yourself to others and then feeling some artificial suffering from that.

its a personal choice, its a destructive choice.

A garbage subreddit where the posters are inorganic and pushing "MUH CHINA WILL WIN" propaganda narrative pushed by Thiel and Friends.
Why don't you get a bullet in your head?

it's europe; their whole thing is literally to align to the antichrist. current administration are literally the only ones resisting it; let's hope liberals don't turn to full on violent revolution by midterms humanity might actually be straight fucked if they do

>What happens when nobody can afford the AI because they have no job or income.
Demand disappears and these companies collapse.
If no one has jobs or income then people will be hungry. Hungry people will make food. These who make more food than they need will trade it for services of other people.
Oh, we reinvented economy again. Did it even went away at any point in the first place?

How is that different from current situation for anyone under any system? If you say something about gov, they lock you up. If you say something about your current work, they fire you. So you just go to another company or start your own. In the case where 1 company controls it, then monopoly law kicks in, especially if they're engaging in tactics that destroy the market.

No. Luxury gay space communism is a pipe dream. Life (all life, not just humans) is defined by competition over resources, it's a zero sum game, and the more any one individual is winning the more everyone else collectively has to lose

Anyone trying to sell you a society of harmonious coexistence with plenty for everyone and no competition has already placed himself as the supreme overlord of that society
>>
>>108864949
Capitalism hasnt existed for over a century. Until one grow a neuromorphic chip in their basement with open source seeds/spores. It will be too capital intensive and too against the majorities desire to be funded any way but by stealing through inflation

Ai will just reinforce the status quo

There exist more than capitalism ad communism
>Life is a zero sum game
Modern economics disagrees with you. The greater the demand for something, the greater the incentive to increase its supply
>Anyone trying to sell you a society of harmonious coexistence with plenty for everyone and no competition has already placed himself as the supreme overlord of that society
True
>>
>>108865728
Modern economics is too short sighted and designed to study 1900s capitalism. Money is just a means not an end. We are constantly pushing the boundary of our available resources, economics works fine under conditions of unrestrained growth and resource abundance but collapses under conditions of true scarcity

Once you CAN'T increase supply anymore, it all spirals out of control. We are already seeing it in action with computer hardware. Making a fab capable of producing hardware that fits modern requirements is a multibillion dollar proposition, and the people qualified to staff it are very few worldwide, and the research is all propertiary and closely guarded.

Economics works fine for bakeries and car dealerships, it collapses when applied to high tech and oil.

No. AIs will continue to play the capitalism game on their own. Humans will be killed off because they won't be able to provide anything to the system anymore.

Literally the definition of a (You) problem. If (I) had free food and shelter without having to lift a finger I would never say anything bad about anyone ever again.
>>
>>108864999
Post scarcity doesn't mean having jeets destroy everything under the guise of doing work.
>>
>>108864949
With AI+robots top 1% rich won't need poors anymore. Not as labor and not as consumers to buy their products. So my guess is rich will just try to kill all the poors since they have no use for them anymore.
>>
>>108864999
We'd require 6bn less humans for that, at least
