I'm unironically playing Dead Island 2 right now on an m3 macbook pro at like 70 fps. That's pretty impressive even if people don't want to believe that it is. Now I would never ever recommend Apple to anyone. I only bought a macbook for minimalist use cases. I don't even have the apple id bullshit set up on this thing. But apple silicon is a game changer and this shit is only going to get better. For example the m5 macbook pros are fucking insane. However I know AMD is working on some kind of apple silicon equivalent and you will be able to actually play real games. Stay tuned.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kp8Vw3Budget: $2000Country: PolandGaming. I don't play many AAA games, but I want it to run STALKER 2 and TESVI when it comes out in the next 2 years.Prebuilt PC I got about 5 years ago. The case is called KRUX Orbit, but it wasn’t available in the part picker. My original plan was to completely replace this PC once NVIDIA released the RTX 5000 SUPER series. Guess how that turned out.Now I’m considering upgrading it instead. What would you replace to get the most noticeable improvement without making it overkill for the rest of the setup? The motherboard doesn’t support NVMe SSDs, which is a bit sad.
I was putting in a desk arm mount and a washer from a bolt slid into the stand hole and its rattling around in the monitor when I move it how can I get it out? How bad is it?
>>108951087So around 7000zł?All you really need are motherboard, ram, cpu and GPU. Maybe CPU cooler but you can upgrade that at any time. Peerless Assassin 120 is around 120zł.RAM alone will be ~1400zł for 32GB. 1100zł for 7800X3D or if you want to take use intel 265k for similar price.Intel benefits from faster memory X3D almost doesn't care. For GPU you should go either 5070ti which is minimum 3800zł or 9070XT for 2900zł similar performance. nV tax is real.Motherboard depends on the CPU you picked and how much IO you want. Give or take 900zł for decent board. For AM5 B650 is the minimum for S 1851 you want at least B860.I didn't check if GPU would fit into your case. You can do the math yourself.

What is the current consensus of building a PC versus buying a pre-built? Is building a PC still cheaper?

>>108951847Depends on a price/performance you are targeting. There is no simple answer. If you are looking for 5090 you can often save money by buying pre-build for example. But for low end you should still save some money by buying parts yourself.
>>108951847I feel some stores have such hard time moving components like cases, fans, mobos that they prioritize bundling expensive ram into prebuilts over selling individual componentsbut while you get a relatively good deal with a prebuilt, you lose the freedom to pick best parts for each individual slot
>>108951861It's certainly AN upgrade at least. You'll be bottlenecked as hell unless you're cranking everything on the gpu to max, and even then it'll be wack. You'll want to upgrade your mobo/cpu/ram asap afterwards though.
>>108951892>You'll want to upgrade your mobo/cpu/ram asap afterwards though.the thing about upgrading my gpu is that i could buy any new gpu and it would work but to upgrade my cpu i need to upgrade everything else and i would have to buy the most budget stuff and then what would be the point of upgrading. i think i will get a low end cpu when am6 or intel equivalent comes out and upgrade within the same mobo few years later while keeping my ram

Binning would drastically reduce the amount of viable CPUs available for the market.>the 8086k was a higher effort product than the 5800x3d 10th anniBecause the 8086k was a boutique almost collector tier CPU. It was limited run, limited time, binned golden sample CPUs. The 5800X3D 10A edition is literally just a rerun of what they've done already. It's supposed to be on sale for something like $280 to $310 brand new which is a good chunk of money lower than when it was originally released at $450ish.This CPU is exclusively because people already have pre-existing AM4 systems and DDR4 but their current CPU is a far inferior non X3D CPU. The CPU hits 88C under rendering loads, but that's because my CPU cooler isn't sufficient for the clock I'm running. Think I'm just gonna bite the bullet and get the noctua fans/cooler.>NH-D15 G2 is $165Jesus.
>want to try out oled monitor>but im on the pc 16 hours a day and web browse 12 hours a day
>you can't break horses in rdr online.ok, done. I'll just play a saved game that has everything done lol
Everyone was saying that rdr2 was greater than skyrim. I think it's nice, but it has that "bouncy bubble" movement that makes it less real feeling.
>>108953134yields arent fixed. they improve over time which is why amd bothered releasing xt refreshes like the 5800xt
A local site here has one of those aliexpress partnership deals and I can get a 7800x3d for super cheap, but I'm weighing up if it's worth it or not when I'm heavily GPU bound because I use a 5070 at 4K. I also have an as asrock b650m mobo and I heard they have issues with x3d processors.
>>108953218again, the whole point of this 5800X3D re-release was to give people with existing system a large CPU performance uplift on the cheap. Fucking with binning takes them more time and money vs just rolling out the existing tech you know already works. The XT series of 5th gen ryzen was easy to do because it was just a factory overclocked X series CPU. No X3D memory stack makes things far easier.
>>108953227>they have issues with x3d processorsonly affects 9000 series x3d cpus>5070 at 4Kits not worth it in your case
computex is live by the way
>>108953276who cares?
how the fuck are there no AM5 motherboards with more than 4 SATA ports? How in the fuck am I spending $450+ for an X870E chipset motherboard and it only has 4 ports? >inb4 just but an addon cardI shouldn't fucking have to.
>>108953290>>inb4 just but an addon card>I shouldn't fucking have to.yeah you should buy nvme drives instead.
>>108953286INVESTORS
>>108953290use case for more than one x where x is anything
>>108953290they added some fast usbc ports or someshit and those ate up your sata space
>>108953298Flash storage isn't cheap enough nor dense enough for my needs. I already have 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus models. I also have 2x Samsung 860 Pro 4TB models. I want to add 4x 26TB HDD's. I guess I'm just going to settle for 2x HDDs. Or maybe I'll just buy a fucking LSI HBA or something but from what I'm reading, using another PCIe lanes will cut my primary GPU lanes in half and/or turn off 2 SATA ports lmao. It's a lose lose. Maybe it's time I just invest in a synology NAS or something, this is retarded.
>>108953358>he wants to run hard drives in his pc in 2026bro you deserve everything bad happening to you.
>>108953370shutup retard. I need mass storage for backups, etc. Even if I had unlimited budget, spending thousands on at max, an 8TB SSD vs $850 on a 26TB HDD it just a waste. There's not enough M.2 slots on the motherboard or even enough lanes to run a 4x addon NVME card for meet my storage needs.>just use cloud storageFuck off
>>108953378just use a nas. storing the backup on the same machine that you backup is retarded and goes against the backup rules. the backup is also accessible for other machines on the network that way even if your pc isn't running.
>>108953397>just spend even more money on an NAS solution for what your old PC was perfectly capable of doing priorGreat. Awesome clown world we live in. NAS's are great but I shouldn't NEED one on an enthusiast level chipset motherboard in the near $500 range after taxes. Absolutely ridiculous.
Huge news, jensen just announced that the 5090 will be $200, and come with Cybertruck 2026
>>108953412so you are just a retard and a simpleton? go buy a threadripper system then. you are still on a cucksoomer platform. performance has nothing to do with it. if you want more you either lose your single core performance and pay even more or you build a nas that is going to work no matter the platform. stupid nigger.
>>108953412>>108953424the only enthusiasm that i can see from those boards are from he paypigs who buy them.
>>108953424fuck you and your mother too faggot. >hurr durr just spend thousands of dollars more to get more of what was readily accessible on old techIt's still SATA 3 ports. There's nothing new about them, but you get less and less of them. Yet you can't stop slurping corporte cock like the fag boy you are. When you're done, make sure to wipe your chin, zip up their fly, then do us all a favor, and kill yourself.
>>108953458old tech doesn't have the performance. inflation is up. sata is not a feature anyone cares about except poorfags and people who can't build a nas. only retards like chip out about change that is obvious. go buy an cheap office pc for 80 bux and turn it into a nas retard.
>>108952999understandable soi reaction
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PGRmrGposted this last night and still looking for a good 4k monitor, is this mobo fine or its just too much?6basically, already spending this much money, I just want something that can last as many years as possible
>>108953290should've kept rollin with the winning platform boyonigga mine got EIGHT (8)
A six port sata card is only $15, no need to chimp out about it.
>>108953605the west has fallen. billions must build a nas.

>>108953615everyone here already knew that because we all watch leakers like mlid
>>108953887Yeah, a year late and not even that good at AI because the memory bus bandwidth is pretty restricted. Plus, most of these will come with ARM Windows installed which is gonna suck out a bit of performance out of everything.
>>108953903It'll probably be trivial to obliterate WoA and put linux back on it. It's a neat toy, but it's not really *for* anyone. Other than me.
>>108953866you'll never be able to run linux on it because they won't ever open source parts of their codeand I've been using linux on laptops for 10+ years as it is thousand times more efficient than windows (battery lasts longer)so yeah, I would never buy this, funny enough intel is the company I'm more excited for in the laptop space, amd is not good at performance per watt, they are fine on the desktop only

For 3D artists that need to interact in a scene while seeing near-final render quality, DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction transforms the lighting and look-development workflow. The update will be released with Blender 5.3 this Fall.

I haven't upgraded my build in ~4 years. Im using a 32" 4k 144hz MiniLED monitor. Would my build be consider mid-range or high end? Originally had 32gb ram but one stick died.
>>108954113cpu is garbage now for gaming, alright for productivitygpu is high end- okay since it can do dlss transformer model and fg and has decent amount of vram
>>108950270When is AMD going to fix the GPU market?
>>108954113yes, not a gaming cpu tho, it's for productivity
>>108954113buy a second stick of ram and a 5800x3d
>>108954113Mid range
>>108953913ARM devices are all locked down, Nvidia would have to go out of their way to open the BIOS on their device so you can install Linux on it and considering microslop was shilling this shit I'd say it's probably gonna be locked down garbage.
has anyone else had issues with MSI mobos? ever since october of last year anytime ive tried to update my BIOS it constantly boot loops and never makes it past the logo screen. Ive been on the october BIOS for a while now and no issues but find it very upsetting they havent tried to address or fix it,
>>108954229No, I don't have MSI mobos
>>108953624they will always have another SKU to release, I'm expecting some leftover Zen 4 CCDs to end up on AM4 eventually.>>108953638they're still making Zen3 APUs but those are DDR5
>>108954142they did with RDNA4 and then the rampocalypse happened
>>108952519I predicted the maximum they could charge was between the 9600X and 9700X... I was technically correct but I assumed they would err on the low end of that with $299.they should have just made both the 5800X3D re-release and the 7700X3D $329. I guess this will keep the 5800X3D from selling out or something.
